I am curious as to folk's opinions of Legacy's effect on SFC and the community. Will you be buying Legacy? Do you think it will cut into your SFC playing time? I am loking forward to Legacy, but I have my reservations as to its staying power without the gaming community's efforts to make some sort of persistent universe or campaign.

I'm not here to defend it, but I think arcade game is a mischaracterization. Think Ghost Recon but with Star Trek ships.

I will be purchasing it, and trying it out. If it is great, sorry but it willl cut into SFC time. If ok, soso, or whatnot, then SFC will be fine. It will all come down to each individual, but I guarantee it will not make more SFC pilots, just take a few more away.

I'll be buying it- just to rip out the ships and mod them back into the games I really play, like SFC, KA, maybe BC.

from the E-3 demo, it looks like flavor of the month eye candy. Not impressed that you have only forward and aft firing weapons.

No legacy here. I don't buy games that require bogus hardware standards. (besides, its not SFB based)

I also worry about the for and aft weapons, it creates a flying in circles game. Which is exactly what the demo showed the guy doing when attacking the Borg, ... just kept going in circles firing.

If you can't track damage from game to game,.. won't work in my campaigns either.

I am sitting on the sidelines to hear what others have to say before I dump any cash into it.

HT&L or "Hardware Transform and Lighting" is the classic example. A bogus standard contrived to sell video cards, not improve video games.
