Topic: What is the most hardest Race to Fly?

I would post this in the General forum of SFC but I know this is the second busiest forum next to the OT forums.

 What is in your opinion the hardest race to learn how to manage and how to fly.

 My opinion is the Lyrans and the Federation.The Lyrans have to be aware of drones and when the Federation has to watch it power more when facing plasma races.Both have to take thier speed into count when facing these weapons.

I totally agree on Lyrans and Feds.   I love to fly Lyrans but it was my second last race to learn, and I am glad I learned a lot of the other ones first.  My hardest would be Feds.  That is a race I die with the highest percentage of all races.  I Dispise them .

me, as per PvP vs same, or equal bpv.

For PVP - Any plasma followed by any ship that *needs* to hit someone with drones.

Feds are easy enough (point & shoot), Hydrans are fun (although I'd never have the patience for the fusion ships)
I'm certainly not the best Lyran pilot (just before someone else makes what they feel is a "clever" remark  ) but once I figured out ya can't overrun a Hydran they're easy enough.

For PvP I'd have to say the hardest for me personally is Hydran, I'm not a figther jock and like lots of phasers even if phaser 3s.

Non-Fighter ships Hydrans have been impossible for me to PVP with.

Feds are actually pretty difficult to do it correctly for me aswell.

I would say any race against a fairly well handled plasma chucker. The plasma ballet requires extreme patience and if you are not prepared for that kind of long drawn out fight the plasma thrower will clean your clock.

I say PvP and a bpv that is +25 to 30 and a stardate in mid to late era.

It depends a lot on your style.  For me it is the ISC and Gorn.

True an expert plasma chucker is definatly a very tough battle no matter what. The difference between a good plasma chucker and a great one though is huge as there certainally are weaknesses to exploit against a good player. You just have to be willing to take a bloody nose those that aren't will find them impossible to beat all the time but if you are willing to take that punch in the face you can get in there and knife fight them for the end game fast enough. Just be wary of those 4 suicide shuttles lol... Oh such hard lessons learned =)

Agreed. Era determines a lot. Killing another ship with drones in Early is a lot harder than flying a plasma or direct fire race, but overall I'd have to go with Lyrans.

Plasma does damage when impacting on my ship (as it seems to far too often)
