federation TOS heavy cruiser
« on: August 10, 2006, 11:58:07 am »
almost all the pics are from atra's fed ship, i kinda made 2 to 3 new ship.

the following images are just one of 3 of each ship, since atra's web site is empty i offer this mod and my variant to anyone who want them, if i had a website i could upload them to it but i don't have one and he don't want his mod to be at the battleclinic or any mass mod website, so i will send them by email to anyone who want them.

so here a description of each ship/mod:

Achernar early, i use the texture of the Achernar on other mod from atra and made a early version of it, the engine tips hase a different color to match a new engine, i only show one of each to show the change.

the bonhomme Richard middle is in the middle of the time, you can see the difference in the color of the tips of the engines.

the constellation (from the doomsday machine) a late version of it (none damage ship except for a small spot on the saucer)

the constitution old, all the ship are old-middle and late eras

the declaration (original from atra) and the drawing of it

the original drawing and my version of the declaration.

the declaration as a constitution class

the endeavor old, its like the Achernar.

the Potemkin

the republic

and for last 2 damage constellation, the first one is from atra and the other one is from lordshups

also i have the damage mod from both also

I think that they are great.  Perhaps you could release them through a private shipyard, like Staryards.  Or check with Outlance Shipyards about getting space through them.  I do not know their policy on new members, but then you would have a place to release other models or bashes that you make. Check the forum for contact information, I know that Models Please is a member. Also I believe that Battleclinic hosts files that are not in the Community Docks.  Other than that I would put them together in a compressed archive file (like .zip or .rar) to make it easier to send them by private E-mail.

I hope that I have not taken liberties with Outlance's name but I think that you guys are some of the best out there  and that getting hooked open with you is one of the smartest things that a new modeler can do. ;D ;D

I know WZ doesn't mind kitbashes of his work posted at SFC3Files.com.  I've posted several bashes myself there, and asked WZ if he had a problem with them hosted there.  He had no problem.  I would just ask him in a PM or e-mail if he's alright with you posting your work on SFC3Files.  Same with Atra.
The pen is truly mightier than the sword.  And considerably easier to write with.

Just a FYI

While I know you are proud of your desktop, you can get a screen shot of JUST the model viewer by pressing ALT+ PrtSc.  This takes an image of the current application.  This will also make for smaller pics which will load faster.

As for the ship model, it looks quite nice.  Don't forget the "rust ring" on the upper surface of the dish     8)

Here are some photos:

I have been collecting reference material off the net for quite a while now.  Many sources and don't know where I found these, but they are not my work.  As you can see there is a tinted ring on the top of the primary hull.  I have seen it referred to as the "rust ring".   Even the original at the Smithsonian shows it though the last refurb overdid the weathering and colors quite a bit.  The third pic though is a composite that someone did up using 3 ( or was it 4 ) frames from the original series.  This shows the ring as well as the 2 CGI ships.

As far as the ones using my parts are concerned, it's fine by me if you want to post them as long as the proper credits are included.

As for Atra, you'd have better luck flagging him down on his forums:
