I'd say go with the SQL myself.   We seem like we're at crucial stage of SQL development so lets continue.   Sure the downside is that it is happening during a very popular server, but the upside of all the long-term SQL "stuff" makes this a no-brainer to me.   I guess who you really need to hear from is Dizzy since the Slave Girls servers are his baby.

We will give SQL one more try. If it burps three times tonight in as many hours then we go to the flatfile for sure (I have that setup all ready). Thank you all for your patience and perseverance. The new installer is posted. The server will be up in 1.5 hours.

I do admit I'm hooked on the SQL after playing on both runs of the Forge. All those extras are just great!
But, having a drop after every couple missions is rather annoying.
I don't mind giving SQL another try, it would be very nice to continue the server with it.
I was looking forward to assigning someone a E3 for losing a capitol ship...  :P

A couple quick questions...
Will we need to uninstall the old installer before installing the new one? Or just overwrite with the new one?

If we go to flatfile, will I still have my CCL? (please say yes...)

At least I've got time to eat and relax a little after work before it kicks off again.

Thanks to all who've had a hand in this campaign for their continuing hard work on it.

Will we need to uninstall the old installer before installing the new one? Or just overwrite with the new one?

The installer will tell you to uninstall the current version of SGO6 if it is presently installed. (be sure everyone downloads the latest version by clearing their browser cache or adjusting their caching settings)

If we go to flatfile, will I still have my CCL? (please say yes...)

The db shows you as having a K-D7CL where we left off. I assume this is what you mean by a CCL?

If we have to go with the flatfile later tonight, starting PP will be 10K, the map will be where we left off last night, the year will 2267, you will get the standard starting ships and Dizzy will provide me a list of ships to assign by database edits Tuesday night. So if you feel you are entitled to a difficult to obtain or restricted ship then submit the requst to Dizzy for approval. Be sure to include the full and accurate ship class name and character name in the request. (e.g. K-D7CL, KBFLordKruegSCC). If needed, a thread may be started for the purpose.

I DL'd the new SGO6. Just to confirm, the newer SGO6 files are smaller?   5.60 mb (newer) vs 5.72mb (original)
