What mods? Did you use the Enhancement Pack 4.0? If so it has a problem and Pestalence has not been around to update it. Do not use the Enhancement Pack 4, rather obtain the desired mods individually and install them.

What mod are you installing and how are you manually installing it?

Also did you disable your anti-virus software during the install and patch?

no and i don't see what the antivirus have to do with it?, my antivirus would have told me if there was anything with it, if it was the antivirus the problem why is sfc2 eaw working fine?

Anti-Virus software (Norton in particular) if running during an OP install and patch is known to break the installation. This has been experienced by a number of users. It interferes with the install/patch not the running (though it can) which is why your EAW may be working fine.

Empirical evidence. Trust me. Try completely disabling your Anti-Virus software while you install and patch OP. Then let us know if you still have problems.

Also, make sure you copy StarFleetOP.exe and paste it as a shortcut on the desktop to run the game with. ;) (maybe try this first)

It might also be your modifications that are the problem, details would help. Try running the game as patched stock before doing any modding to ensure your installation is good.

i have un install it and deleted what was left, i re install it and try it and its working fine, i re install the patch and its working fine, i have put back my mod and was also working, i modify a few ship for my mod and also working fine, it seem that it was the shiplist that was the problem, now m inputing each ship and see if its work.  (i will need to remember next time i get this problem)
