Stargate models
« on: July 21, 2006, 05:56:18 pm »
I'm converting my SFC OP to a Stargate Mod deal.  Or trying really hard to.

I remembered something about an Ori model, but I can't find it at Battleclinic or SFC3 files.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Oh, and also:

That's a pic from a Bridge Commander Files POTD.
Who's 304 is that?  Is it being made for SFC too?  Details, details!

I emailed Dave (at Bridge Commander) and he ok'ed use of his model pack (including the 50k deadelus pictured) for our FS2 project so it appears he doesn't mind as long as people ask first..

Alchemist, are you doing this for personal use, or for a mod you intend to publicly release? (If the latter I suggest you email Dave Russel first)...

Since FW and DD are doing SFC3 I guess it's not a duplication of effort.

It's personal.  I'm trying to make SG ships that act close to what's seen in the show.

For example, the SGC vessels are armed with missiles and disruptor1's (in place of the railguns seen in the show)

Goa'ould/Jaffa/Lucian and Asguard Ships are armed with a different type of plasma torpedo for both races.

And I'm gonna give the Ori ships the Mauler and lots of shields/power.

Interesting project, has anyone thought about doing the same for BSG?

BSG would be great on the OP engine also. You could modify a map such that there is only an empire and a cartel. Let the Cylons be the empire and the rag-tag fleet be the cartel.

Problem with that though is you have two vessels, one per side to play with amy get boring or very onesided if there isnt a balance achieved. But I would play it and I certainly would play this

The really neat thing about BSG is that the colonials have the same technology as we do here on earth except for the fact that they have spaceships (unless you really believe the airforce has two intergalactic battle cruisers designated X-303 and X-304).   ;)

This is kind of why I liked Space: Above and Beyond...

... do you believe the Marines are already kicking alien butt in outer space??

If they are I'd be pissed.

One of my friends from High School joined the Marines, then we lost touch.  If he's out there havin' fun without me I'm gonna harm him next time I see him.
