Choosing ships

The reason I am asking is that I am doing a secret project.

I need to gauge what you peeps and peepettes use.

The data gained from this will effect what I do on this project.

A little to open for that singular vote -- I combine a good power ratio with everything else -- bottom line is if the puppy ain't got the power -- ya wont find me flying it.
That being said whats the point of flying speed 31 with only 2 ph 3? So really for me its a combination of power to weapons ratio ...

I will put my vote in for power as it is the key factor.

I also went for power but it is not the final deciding factor for what I choose.  Transporters never factor into my account unless I know I will be doing planetary assaults all night.  Then it may factor in if I have a choice of a couple nearly same type ships and one has say 4 tractors over the other one that has 2.

Phaser 1 choice is also very rare I would look at that except for specific reasons, such as hunting down a big plasma ship in dynaverse.

For me the job is the important thing.  i choose my ship based on what I'm out to accomplish.

If your talking strictly PvP, I place power curb first (not total power), then the weapons mounts.

Power curb will serve you well vs any opponent, but having the right weapons mounts for the foe you are likely to face is important as well.

After that other factors come into play complimenting the two above or modifying the descision.

Hmmm, let's see

Here's the priority I tend to follow:

(1) Power-curve - two elements (a) how much power left over if running spd 31, (b) full alpha recharge speed maintained
(2) weaponry makeup of ship; weapon arcs if especially good; recharge rate of weapons
(3) shields
(4) turn-rate (when not flying Gorn)
(5) tractors, shuttle-bay launch rate, transporters, max marines held

I tend to fly ships have give you the most tactical options.   You never know when you will have to change your attack/defense strategy in mid-mission.

Arcs, arcs and arcs...

Why on earth would one want a D7 when you can have a D5?

Though power is the primary concern. For example I like the Tartar even though the hellbores are only FA, because you can run at spd 31 and still charge everything. However, the hull and arcs on the Dragoon make up for its power...

So many factors, but weapon arcs is a big one for me.

To kill a D5 as Klingon Civil War often proved  ;)

The D7 hull is superior to the D5 hull in some matchups.  The reverse is true in others.

1) What the ship looks like when it explodes (although this is of course more of a model thing)
2) How long it takes to power weapons (Photons are barely acceptable, plasma is for people whod drive 50 is the fast lane)
3) Turn mode. (3/c is Ok if yer in a BCH, othewise forget it)
4) Power Ratio
5) Ph1 count.
6) Weapon arcs- but this is only to eliminate those few ships (HDW stupidity) that shoot backwards.

Don't be stupid

I have my own personalized chair and a collection of holders (depending on who I'm flying for)

Like I'd use factory stock options  ::)

...and shield regen rate. 1v1, a D-7W can toast the D-5W, hull and better shield regen(about 50% shield regen)
