I'm just curious because I have them all, but as of Christmas I've been on the phone to EA about some installation issues I have, and I have some info to share:
1. NFS:U2- there seems to be an unusually high amount of security in this title associated with installation of the game. It seems after the installation of the game the game checks your registry and if it finds a CD burning program you'll get an error " CD emulation software detected. Please disable the disk cache and restart the game". According to EA's tech support there's 7 known products that can interfere with the running of the game (clone-CD, Alcohol, Nero, etc) and I was told that I MUST uninstall ALL CD burning software in order to get the game to work. I imagine they're afraid someone will clone their CD illegally so they don't want any on your computer. DON'T believe them, it's a LIE !!! I found a work around in less than a day of looking and didn't have uninstall anything (I have 4 of the offending products installed and they don't interfere with the game at all) I also have a video card thats below the minimum required and I get about 80 FPS in 800X600 hi color)
2. NFS:Most Wanted- I have yet to play this one even tho after 2 hours of fighting with it I got it installed. If you have Underground installed you MUST rename the 'speed' file in the underground directory to something else in order to get Most Wanted installed or the installer will try to run underground thinking that Most Wanted is already installed. I was told by EA tech support you MUST unstall EVERY Need for Speed title from your computer before you attempt to install Most Wanted. Most Wanted is also NOT supported in anything less than Win2K.
So there you have it, their latest 2 games biggest glitches, just thought someone else might benefit from my tech support calls.
Anyhow I'm still partial to High Stakes tho Hot Persuit is a VERY close second.
