Nostalgic map? Canada West 4
« on: July 10, 2006, 04:51:51 am »
Just before my time but I loved the map style, Jeff used on for Storm Season I and I've missed these maps ever since.

Be cool if someone (or a few people) could give a campaign analysis and summation for CW 4 using this map as a guide.

Nice find  ;)

Here is SS2's map, though not quite as visually appealing.....

The Storm Season I map I was referring to was the artistic one that was given out before the campaign start.   ;)

Oh and I didn't exactly "find" it I kinda "stole" it from Gook's site  ;D

Well, guess what???

That there IS the map to CW4.....

Here is the map to CW6.....otherwise known as Storm Season I   ;)

I thought CW4's map looked strange, cause I didn't remember switching empires around on the map between I and II.

Well, everyone's always bitching about strategic flexibility. They want to flip hexes. SG5 was nice and tight, about the right size I thought at 39x39. But peeps hated it cuz it of the high DV's of 20-30, even tho most were 10. SG6 has 10 DV's and a few 20's. But its more sprawled out. I cant win. Maybe we need user submisions of maps. Mb we should have a draw your own map day or something...

  Good work chuut... too funny. I've seen more than one campaign map end up that way. (Remember the old TAG server invasion? ;))

Well the bigger you make it, the less effective the disengagement rule is. For a map that size we need the multi-DV thing to work, or you need a radius rule on the whole map. Otherwise it's just a huge flip-fest.
