Weird... I wonder how that happened? If you can't trade the ship in (I'll just replace the PP) then I guess your account will be the test case for my first attempts to edit the shipcachevector blob in the character table. I suspect yours got corrupted shomehow.

Can you tell me what character is involved? And what forums login corresponds?

Would it be "H1AF-deadmansix" flying the "HMS CATNIP"? (The player roster shows that as your only ship...) And your regular forums account "deadmansix"?

Does this condition persist if you logoff the server and back in again?

Something similiar happened to Mrogue last night, bid on a ship in the Webyards and wound up in a Hydran ship, of all things...
I'll see if I can get him to post more details for ya, Bonk.  ;)

Crap, sounds like another bug in the shipyard introduced by transfers/webyards pages. I'll take a look at it when I get the chance. I've been busy for the last two days trying to get our e-mail server working reliably, it might take a few more days to get that done (everything is slowww on dial-up), or find an alternate mail server to use...

Cool, I'll look into this once I get our mail and a few other issues sorted. Hopefully won't be too long.

Roger, I gotta wait for some input from Frey about the mail situation so I'll look into this now and see if I can figure out what's going on.

Your shipcachevector is attached.

It seems somehow a Gorn ship got in there: G-CSF GCS Shima. I suspect that this may have occurred because there are 4 Hydran bases on the map owned by you and if you had transferred to another race at any point this may have introduced this bug somehow. I did not forsee this happening. Most strange.

If indeed the bases and transfer are the cause, I'll have to put a check into the transfers page for owned bases and either change their ownership or deny transfers to characters who have placed bases. It will take some testing to determine if this is the cause.

The other possibility is that it was a simple error in the network transmission of the post variables for the webmap script... Actually no, that couldn't be it because of the way the webyards work - they do not touch the shipcachevector directly... they only create the ship in the yards and them place a bid on it... So it would have been an error internal to the server. Perhaps the recent myterious running but not listing of the server... weird and inconsistent network bugs could concievably have caused this.

For now, I need to clean up your shipcachevector. Thankfully, Dave has recently decoded some(all?) of it. I'll take a look at his latest  flatfile editor code and see if I can correct your bugged shipcache with this new info. (the shipcache vector has stumped me for years now...)

OK, I think I've fixed your character, give it a try and let me know if its OK or broke. (It might take a server reboot to republish the character...)

Now I need to figure out why your webyards purchase did not come in... (I have a suspicion - but it will be tough to track).

How much did the ID cost? I'll reimburse your character the PP.

If anyone else has had this happen please let me know with any details you can recall, thanks.

As LordKrueg posted earlier, this has happened to me.  I seem to be the proud owner of a Hydran ID and can't get rid of it.  Yes I have placed bases, transferred accounts...  I keep drawing 2 DNs to fight against with whatever I am flying, be it a CL, CA, DN, BB.

HELP!!!!!!!  although it does make for some interesting missions, but I'm tired of fighting armada's of enemy AI.

Interesting... as it was an ID that deadman purchased that he never received...

I will edit your shipcache as I edited deadman's though I do not know if the edit I made to his character worked or not, he has not reported the character as working yet. (I'm backing up the current data before editing just in case)

Which account of yours is it that has the ghost ship? KHH-Mrogue (Klingon), KHH_Mrogue (Romulan) or ISC_Mrogue (ISC)... wait I can just look at all three and should be able to figure out which has the ghost ID.

Thanks for the report deadman, good to know it worked. Being able to edit the shipcachevector is huge for me. I can do a bunch of new stuff with the webmap now... I'll need to work on it some more but his will lead to an OoB interface and an admin interface to edit characters online... Dave's new editor code did help somewhat. We're lucky to have him around!  :)

Mrogue, I only just now edited your character this afternoon, I could not reach the server since last night, Frey and I have been admonishing Comcast to fix our connectivity and bandwidth situation.

It was the Romulan account KHH_Mrogue that I edited. In the process I had to double check the BPV of your ship in the shiplist I thought it must be wrong for sure, but no... wow, a R-KCNF is 437 BPV!  :o

Give it a try now Mrogue and let mw know if its A-OK. (again, might take a server reboot to take, haven't established if that is required for these edits yet - I hope not...)

Is your Klingon account also showing this ghost ID? ... lemme check... edit: nope, looks like your Klingon account is only showing you owning a K-D6K...
