This kids actions pretty much mirrors my own reactions when going on Deep Strike Missions with Chuut or Maverick

Mavs L-BCH is now sitting at a range of 2 behind Soreyes's Z-DD. ESG's have been switched on and the following is heard.

Soreyes: SP and Drones away

Mav: I think you can use a few of these.....(sound of 4 Transporters )

T-Bombs appear in front of Soreyes. The first one takes out the drone wave, the 2nd,3rd, and 4th take out the DDs front shield.

Soreyes: Ahhhh You ^%^&%$ %%#@!%$%^& MAV!!!! You BASTARD!!!!!!

Mav: Uncontrollable Laughter

and to my shame I trusted him on another mission and he did the same thing again

WhatI remember about the 'Late Night Crew' was on StormSeason I when we kept making runs to destroy the Romulan starbase supporting their Western front. Over and over again, every night we attacked that hex every night for a week straight. Hell, or highwater, nothing stopped this nightly infiltration.

Two specific things I remember about these nightly trips.

(1) me in my Gorn DN finishing up the base assault while Freedom (in his Mirak DF) lured all the many, nasty coalition pilots several hexes away and allowed me enough time to get out of Romulan space,

(2) one night after we had succeeded in killing the base (once again) and we were still looking to deepstrike somewhere, anywhere; our bloodlust was high; our group decided to follow one of Maverick hair-brained ideas. We all gladly jumped on the bandwagon and flew into enemy space following Mav, of all people.

Well, if I remember correctly, only Mav and maybe one other pilot out of seven returned from that mission. In one mission or another, following Mav had proven too dangerous for us. That little pip-squeak got us all killed and he was laughing like a maniac the whole time. That mission lost me a Gorn DNH and was when I swore revenge on Mav. That revenge came when I shoved his ship into a planet a few servers later.

Planet-spearing became the craze then. (Just another thing we can blame on Mav

)

Yes those were great times. I remember one night when the entire latenight crew was all together and we basically just laughed constanly on voice coms for hours on end. I recall stepping away from the mic a couple of times just to catch my breath. That one night was my best SFC experience bar none. Listening to the T-bombing actions of Mav and Agave going at each other, hearing Deadman owing revenge on Maverick, Depstriking the Lyran hexes so they would turn Gorn and not be easily decernable with Freedom, Lyr and Weamz, Using Soreyes as an extra #1 shield. It was ggod times.

cant remember the server but its the one when Mav was flying Tholian, and we all moved as a group a good 30 or so hexes behind the lines and did some hex flipping and then when Mav said he was going for some food or something and he would be back in about 30 min we all left him back behind the lines cuse he was being unusually irritating that night

If you're talking about the stories, in all of them he was ALLIED to us. Maverick doesn't need to be flying for the enemy to be dangerous.......................and silly....................and goofy. While Mav is usually leaning to the mischevious I will credit him with some
of the most creative tactics I've ever seen. He's like the younger brother we all want to help in the ways of the force.

That post ment alot to me I appreciate the words. Undeserved but I appreciate it all the same. Certainally some of the best memories I've had. It was a privelege to have the opportunity to fly with you all. I enjoyed the game well enough sure, but I love the people and that was what really made for some great times.

I'm very saddened that I wasn't able to make it down there for the trip this year. I still hold out hope to make it down there the next time though.

While I'm at it I'll add to the memories here and mention one that lead me to join KOTH... I wish I could remember what the server was but it was one of my very first servers where I was flying Klingon. Got my beautiful C7V finally and went to go help out the Lyrans. Did a fair bit of good too help raise DVs ensure a strong LOS. A job well done for the night so I log off in Lyran space at a Klingon Resupply. Log back on the next night and much to my dismay I am completely cut off from Klingon space and the Klingon Resupply I am sitting on belongs to the enemy now. So being my crying, my uncontrollable crying for my brand new soon to be dead C7V and I make my trek across enemy space back to my home space ( I'm talking atleast 20-30 hexes ) no easy feat against AI alone but that's not enough for my friend Fluf oh no. He keeps and eye on the news knowing I'm back there (from the 'fore mentioned uncontrollable crying on general chat. Ok so not a great idea to tell your enemy where you are but it does make for an interesting run lol) So he gets everyone in the area to come on down and play a fun cat and mouse game with me. Torturing me all the way. Was pitted against numerous pilots all of which far beyond my skill level, they beat me up little by little and send me on my way and then the next one gets me and beats me up and sends me on my way and they continue this till I make it all the way home. Never once destroying my ship when it was quite easy to do so. If I remember correctly I never disengaged without putting up an honest fight. Ended up making it home safe and sound if you disregard the mental damage I sustained on my voyage. Now you'd probably have to have been on the server durring this entire thing to really understand but never in my years of playing has general chat been so entertaining as when we were all talking in general as I made my way back home. I unfortunately don't remember any exact words but trust me between Fluf, Matsukasi, Megafortress, Marcus and all the other clowns involved it made for some hilarious conversations, not to mention much more uncontrolable crying followed by uncontrollable laughter shortly after.

It was IDSL (Islands of Dr. Strangelove) Mav, I remember that night well we had alot of fun playing Cat and Cat Toy with you. I had you in a oneof those missions myself, and although you'd been beaten up a bit you never declined to put up a fight. I think the first time I was actually in a mission with you you were already minus a few phasers a disruptor and quite likely most if not all of your spares. I was in a CVA at the time so it was quite brave of you. It was Matsukasi who basically issued the "order" not to try and finish you off. I think some of us questioned it for a moment then Mat assured us it would be more fun to keep playing with you than to give you an easy ride back.

Yes that was a server to remember,and for the record we knew you were there Mav as we kept an eye out on that area as it was next on the list to be taken buy the K/H company in a hostel takeover the next day the klinks tyred to run the bottel neck and was turned away.

and I will second both Agave's and Chutt's comments about ya as I know I really miss ya on the server (but that doesn't mean I wont get even)
