Go buy yourself one of those cookers. Then scoot booty over to the grocery store and grab a nice big 4 lb roast (Chuck, Rump, any roast, it's all good), some potatoes, and carrots, and oh yeah, go buy the spice dept and grab some roast beef spices, though just salt and pepper will do.
Set that bad boy on high and throw the roast in and add water to about the 1/4 mark high on the roast in the pot. Let it cook (With top cover on it) for 6-8 hours, just be sure to turn it over now and then. Then go dump out the juices (It's mostly fat), the meat will be succulent but you need to trim away all the fat.
Go skin a potato or two and cut it up to portions that you like, add to the roast. Do the same with carrots. You can add other things too, but I love a good old fashioned roast.
Add some water to the half mark and add those spices. Cook for a few more hours on low setting, and then end result is this.
You will have meals fit for a king for days to come. Mine only last one day as I got family visiting and that means 5 mouths to feed.
Total cost besides a one time expense for a cooker?
Roast: 8 bucks
Potatoes? I do not even look, very inexpensive
Carrots? Same as potatoes.
Spices? Cheap!
Servings? 8 more or less in a very good size soup bowl.
