What software do you use to edit photos?
« on: May 29, 2006, 06:01:45 pm »
My wife takes photos.  LOTS of photos.  She has used Photshop before (6.0) and PhotoShop Elements 2.0, but we've both found those programs tough to work well.

We're looking for something that's clean, rather easy, and can accomplish the basics without too much hassle.  I'm looking at FastStone (thanks to the listing of great free software on this forum).  But I'm wondering what do you (or your spouse or significant other) use and how do you like it.

Thanks for any info.

BTW, the listing of free software is simply awesome.  Thanks.

I use Microsoft Photo Editor a lot for basic stuff. It is simple and easy to use. It is included with Office but does not install by default (must do a custom office install or re-run the setup to add components).

Other than that I use Photoshop for advanced stuff, and for large complicated print layouts Freehand is the tool for the job. I also use Adobe Imageready to optimise images for the web or e-mail.

My father likes Picasa for its ease of use.

I use Photoshop for just about everything.
