Yes Evil Dave is back! There will be some new missions that seem to have the very terrain conspiring against you.
There will be new patrols, new things to encounter, new decisions to be made, and some new strategies that will need to be devised.

LIMITED SPECIALTY SHIPS
-Specialty ships will only be available in accounts created at the server start. These acount info will be emailed to the RM once the ships FYA
matches the server date. Anyone can fly them, but it should be noted that the prestige earned from flying a specialty ship stays with the ship
You don't get to keep it. Think of it as using the specialty ship in it's strategic role, rather than because it kicks ass in PVP.
And of course- once the ship is destroyed (for any reason) it's gone for good.

There will be anywhere from 1-3 (possibly 4) of the specialty ships created. This will be using SFB like defintions- so (for example)
the DF will be restricted, the DWD will likely not. (until I can confirm their rarity) There will be only 1 STL etc. Some unique or CJ ships will be present (The Lyrans will have a CVA for example) but there will only be one of each.
But what about
-DN's & BCH's will be handled slightly differently (CVA's/BCV's will likely belong in the specialty category) you may purchase and fly these ships sans limit, with the exception that there can only be X number of them on at a time, and that once you've been killed in one you can't fly another.
Anything up to and including CCH's will likely be without limit and/or restrictions.
I'd heard
Carriers-
All carriers will have their full (up to 24) SFB allocation of fighters while deck crews will be reduced.
This will (hopefully) turn the smaller carriers (with 12 instead of into more dangerous opponets.
It is important to note that having groups of 6 fighters does not always mean that 6 fighters will be shooting,
(from basic AI fights I've seen anywhere from 4-6 fire) but you're fighters will have a little more durability.
PF's will work in groups of 6 for tenders, based on other's work we we have 1 Leader, 1 scout, 2 "normal"
each of the normal PF's will have the ability to carry one other PF. The scout will likely simply have an extra phaser
or two .
It's also possible (after I bother Herr burt) that PF Flotillas will be permitted. These will basically be the PF's sans
tender- and possibly will be allowed to join up (so 2 players could have no "line ships" but 12 PF's, 3 could have 18....)
