Bought A New toy today, and I'm officialy broke.
« on: May 22, 2006, 09:55:08 pm »
I broke down and Bought another John Deer product, this time a Riding Lawnmower. Using a Brush hog to mow the lawn is too much of a pain. Anywho, I grabbed a Model 115 for the areas right next to my home. Tomorrow, I'll pay the government and get some gas while I'm at it. Still I'm pretty happy, First new Mower I've bought since I was about 15.

No, you got it all wrong, the real action is in pulling, not racing ;D

BTW Stephen, congrats on the new ride. My last new one was in '91 and it was a 40 horse FWD Deere and would not be the first time I used a brush hog on the lawn either.

You'd still have to shovel the sh*t...or is this just another situation where the usage of high explosives to solve waste managment problems is irresistable?

Redesignate it as organic fertilizer and get the city folk to pay you for the right to cart it away.

Hey Stephen, you could just tear it up and put down astoturph...like here....

Bah, John Deere? TORO is the machine of choice!

Speaking of which, holy batcrap! Look at their stock now!

The bad thing about TORO? Designed in USA, assembled in Mexico... I guess the profits soared and shareholders and investors noticed. Same thing with Schwinn, but assembled in China.

Shoot I've always bought John Deer for the most part, except for my weedeater and chainsaw. It's just a habit, and being happy with there goods. That and I know they have Grease Inserts, so that goes along ways with me.

astroturf. LOL. The wife would probably go for it, as she's a huge Broncos fan.  ;D

Hmm. The other day, I was wondering how I could make a profit off of Dog poop. You guys may be onto something here.

Actually Steve, they are both strong brands, and two leaders in the lawn and garden field. I think it's one of those things you pick up as a kid. I always knew what John Deere was, but my grandpa used to manage a golf course in S.C. since he did not like being retired. I'll never forget when he let me play with the mowers, and I did not know what Toro was, and he told me "best darn lawn tractors I ever worked with."

I guess a lot of us have had same experience with John Deere.

As you can see, both companies have done very well.

And for those of you that cannot afford a Toro or Deere lawnmower or tractor, when you go to H.D. check these out.

Whispers: It's a Toro for less money!  ;D

The key word there Jack is "lawn". Toro is really good in the turf department and Deere is really good in the garden/farm department with some overlap of course. I would also think that in Stephen's part of the country that there are a lot more Deere dealers than Toro although many of those would be the big implement dealers although they should be able to get any parts that are needed.
I am alright, it is the world that is wrong.
