Think of it on the bright side.  Those ships wont bother you in that particular mission again, and you will not need to repair

I've had things like that happen, and I know it can be frustrating.  I hope it doesn't put you off the server too much.

The server hasn't been down today at all, but continues to churn away happily.  I think you must have been the victim of some ISP burp in  the internet.    There is more risk in this the longer the mission.
