econ war server down

I saw it go down; I'm not sure what happened.   The entire machine spontaneously rebooted.

Scary.

It's back up now.

Have you attempted to disable server AI production completely or just minimised its creation and optimised its destruction? The latter is infinitely preferable for stability. (though probably not related to the whole box spontaneously rebooting)

I always ran into stability problems in the past if I tried to turn off the persistent AI characters.   I just cranked it down some, and that usually proves much more stable.

Besides, I kind of like the fact that the map can change sometimes if you ignore an area too long.  it makes the piracy feel a bit more real.  You just never know when Jimmy Two-Toes is going to decide he doesn't need to pay proteciton money anymore.

Cool, that is what I was suggesting, disabling server AI completely is known to destabilise the server. (I posted some reccomended AI creation/destrucion gf settings in another thread) However I usually leave the AllowAIToTakeHexes setting at zero and set the AI battles per turn to one.
