Ecomic War will be out tonight, Tuesday 9 May, at about midnight. I'll be needing to make some DB edits which I should already have worked out by then. I'll be as quick as I can. If all goes well then you should probably plan on a half hour break. If it doesn't go well, I'll use this thread to keep you posted.

These outages will be a nightly thing as I adjust the map to reflect the ongoing game. I'll use this thread to keep you posted of all future outages so as to avoid spamming the forum. (I'm starting to feel a little guilty about that already!)

Yes, I've been (The Dread Pirate) Roberts from the start. I like the voices for Syndicate.

It's been half an hour. Things are going well, it's just that certain overlords were a little more ambitious than I was expecting. Keep watching this space. Progress is being made.

Well, it's back up!

(Finally)

That took a bit longer than I expected. I've made note of the trouble spots in the process, and will hope to prepare things to move more quickly from now on.

Oh, and Bonk: I am definitely going to rework my DB editor to work on ranges of hexs, rather than having to put in one hex at a time! (However, I don't expect to ever have quite so many hexs to edit next time.)

Try downloading again. It should work now. I just used the download to update my own game, and the server let me on.

I'm having a bit of trouble here. Someone pointed out a hex doing weird things, and when I try to edit it I corrupt the database.

I haven't been able to fix the busted hex. It's still busted. However, if I leave it alone, the server runs.

I'll have another go tomorrow when I have more time. Maybe I can just edit out the hex and insert an old copy of it before it became busted.

It was another machine crash, this time complete with a blue screen. The server is now up again.

Darned if I could find anything wrong with it. I did clean the database, which I didn't do last night.

*Remember not to attack hex 24,17.
*Remember not to remove any of the embassy hexes that belong to defunct cartels.

*If you are attacking any hex with a base in it, check to be sure that the empire and cartel ownership shows up properly. If it doesn't, stay out of the hex and let me know which hex it was.

So, I'm going to sit here and watch, and let's see what happens. Let's hope today's problems were just random failures.
