What do you suggest for a nice, large gaming tower
« on: May 05, 2006, 10:35:00 am »
I'm in the process of beginning to build a new system, and I want to get a large, oversized ATX tower.  I'm thinking a big case will let the air flow better, allow more room for more fans, and room to put in a nice big CPU cooler, and I've got the space for it.

But I need some recommendations.  Please let me know what you've liked and not liked re PC cases.
Thanks.

I use this very heavy Thermaltake Case, However, I've also been playing around with Making an acrylic case. Of course, Acrylics don't do much for Keeping things cool. That being said, My ThermalTake case is awesome, and I have 7 fans in it, not even counting the Videocard and CPU fans.

I'd strongly suggest one of there cases, as It's relativly Cheap, But give's you Room so you won't have Nicked nuckles. There is only one Case that's better, But I forget the name, I believe that Tracy G in australia has one though.

Let me know If I can offer more advice.

I've been quite satisfied with my InWin full tower case... its an old one but has boatloads of room.

Here is the new version of my case:

Quite a bit more bells and whistles now, but still the same basic internal layout and easy accessibilty.

There was a good dual-power supply case from Cool Master that I was looking at a while back.  If I have time I'll try and look for the link.

Haven't found what I was looking for yet but I found a case that might be what you are looking for:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119093

You can read a review of it here:

When I have time I'll look for the dual power supply case that I was talking about earlier.  Although since Newegg has taken it off the site listings has made me wonder if it is still for sale.

this is similar to the one i have... lets just say its huge...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811129159

this one is differnt from mine w/ the 120 in the back... mine has two 80s in the back.  there are also 1 side 80 and 2 front 80 (one of which blows onto the HD).  The case is huge, the drawback however is w/ everything it the weight comes to about 40 pounds

That's the same case I'm using now.  It's a good case, I didn't like that the USB wires were all separated into individual pins and it is a little loud.  But the case has some great features in it and with 120mm fans it's going to be a lot more quit.
