I hesitate to bring this up, because I hate to let more people know of it. However, we've got a good community here and I trust you all to play fair even after I tell you of a bug that you may not have discovered on your own.
I have absolutely no idea why, and no idea how to stop it. But I have reports from players that they are able to adjust the game speed. It must be a cartel layer bug. I never caught this in playtest because it never even occured to me that such a thing would be possible.
So, new rule:
Do NOT, EVER, under any circumstances, change the speed of the game. Not against humans, and most especially not against AI. This will be considered an extreme cheat. I don't have to tell you how extreme a cheat it is to jack up the speed against AI when others are in PvP missions, or how upset your human opponent would be if you slowed the speed down to help you deal with his seeking weapons.
Adjusting the speed against a human opponent is easily spotted and will earn you a penalty for your side, or perhaps even a ban. Adjusting the speed against AI is harder to spot (unless it's in the server log; I'll check) and I must rely upon your sense of honor and fair play to keep you from doing it. I'm OK with that, as I feel we have a good group we can trust here.
If I figure out how to turn it off, I will.
