OT: KOTOR mod for Star Wars EAW

I know this may not be the correct forum to post this, but I figured that the people who would be most interested frequent here more than the other areas of the forums.

Anyway, I've become involved with a team that is working a KOTOR mod for Star Wars: Empire at War.  We still need new members with modding skills, and quite frankly, the people here are MUCH more seasoned in the field than the current team.

The official name of the mod is now Ages of Star Wars:  Jedi Civil War

Here are some of the models I've been working on for it.  I'm planning on also releasing these (the ship models) for SFC if anyone's interested.

No, it's a mod for Star Wars:  Empire at War.  It's the latest Star Wars RTS game.  I am planning on converting these ships for SFC if anyone shows interest.

We're not really sure yet, so we're trying to keep things relatively low-poly.  The mod tools for working with the models haven't come out yet.  Once they do, we're most likely going to have to rework most of the models so they will work well with the game.

Guys. Looking closely at the stock models using that new viewer thingie, I would estimate no more than about 3k for capital ship and up to about 900 polys for fighters. Most of the models have at least two LODs and most of the fighters I've checked look like they have three.

I am all for this mod...though I havent played EAW yet, nor have I played Battlefront (another game I would love to see a KOTOR mod for) I absolutely love KOTOR....not KOTOR 2, a litlte dissapointed with that one, the original. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Yeah, that's about what we've been guessing for the poly count.  We've been staying around 500 polys for fighters and about 4000 or 5000 max for capital ships or large hero ships.

It looks like our mod is going to mainly focus on the events that transpire during KOTOR, but with much of the KOTOR2 back-story included.  KOTOR2 is mostly about revealing what has happened during the Mandalorian War leading up to after the Jedi Civil War.

There is a lot of KOTOR material in the works for Battlefront 2 right now.  The main focus right now is an addon map the will include Darth Nihilus, Sion, Revan, plus others that I can't recall right now.  If any of you play BF2 and haven't already found it, gametoast.com is a great Star Wars modding site. 

Back on topic, the mesh work looks great for your mod.  Once this really gets rolling I may have to pick up EAW.

KOTOR was a damn fine RPG for a PC game. KOTOR II: TSL clearly was unfinished compared to it... I digress.

I'm in the process of creating a KOTOR era space battle video for my graphics project that's due on Tuesday.  Once I'm finished with that, I'll convert the ships for SFC:OP and SFC3.

Major A Payne, we pretty much have all of the ship models seen in the KOTOR games done, but we need some original designs to flesh out the fleets.  If you have any ideas that you would like to share, that would be great.
