You never get drops from missions or host left messages?  :skeptic:

Actually, in as much as firewalls can and sometimes do cause problems with some connections on Dyna,  I have found more problems with people that have known issues with certain modems, and especially people with KNOWN router issues.  I have virtually never crashed out with someone in a 1v1 Dyna, even when that person has connections issues with nearly everyone else (shin for example before he got cable).  I have however had drops when some people get drafted who have router or other issues.

Do having firewalls off help?  Sure it can.
Do Routers cause more problems than firewalls?  I bet they do.
Are both correctable? yes------->unfortunately they are not both easily correctable.  One merely needs a single turn off, the other often requires downloads and a lot of resets of settings that most people who have comps are unable to either understand or do.

In a perfect gaming world these issues would be non-issues.  Here, they count.  As per having admins forcibly drop players from flying due to having possible issues right from day 1, well that will obviously force a few more pilots off dyna(due to the boot) and quite likely a couple more just because of the boot.  If an admin gives the boot to a known problem pilot with connectivity issues during a dyna after fair warning, ok, but if he is going to threaten to boot immediately reguardless, that will have a negative effect on the community as there are so few of us left.

I just bypass my router and plug my dsl mdm directly in my pc.

And yes I do have a firewall on my PC ;D

I'm going to start banning IP's with peeps with firewalls that cause drops on SG servers. Be warned.
You can get a new IP in less than 24 hours if you want.rofl

So you'd rather cling desperately to your software firewall, adversely affecting mission stability for yourself and anyone who is in missions with you? Good to know...

dialup, a new IP every time you log in.

It is entirely possible to block the entire range of the DHCP pool that you are in. It is extremely unlikely that any other players are in it  as well.

I fail to see why people want unstable missions and lots of player drops, failures to connect, and host left messages. Why would you want to knowingly make the game less playable? I'm completely baffled by this. Maybe I'll never understand...

Can anyone explain to me why they like having unstable dynaverse missions?

In the years that I did play SFC I was never in a stable mission due to dial-up.

I am interested in seeing how it responds now.

Take care!!!

Jeese, that would have been to easy. Back when my wife was Dealing with Cancer, I had rented this house, which was built in the late 1890's. Of course It needed a paint job. Aparently, my sanding and the Old Paint, left Lead/Mercury/My Bad temper, etc. there.

Thank god at the time, It was just me there, and today, a few years later, The wife is fine, My Brain somewhat works, and I've quite a bad habit of drinking.

Glad your wife is doing better, I remember her going through that.

There are some heavy metal detoxs you can do.  It will also detox the mercury you accumulated during your childhood vaccinations.

I would highly recommend it immediately!!!
