Suggestions for V'Ger
« on: April 09, 2006, 05:17:22 pm »
I was borwsing through Battleclinic one day and came across a model for V'Ger.  At first I was excited, but then I saw that while it looked impressive in size, it was basically a planet model with a dark blue cloud texture.  Since then I was wondering what it would be like top wander around a V'Ger model that was close to the V'Ger from the Motion Picture.  I came up with this deal it's rough, but it's just an idea of what I think would have been cool:

I was thinking that the exterior cloud could be planet-shaped, but once you passed through it, you'd see the almost Applecore-like V'Ger from the movie, and from inside looking outward the "planet cloud" would be invisible, allowing you to look outward to the starfield, so just you and V'ger.  Flying deeper inside you could fly by the giant statue of Ilia that Spock encountered, maybe with Will Decker leaning back-to-back against her, and the Voyager 6 probe in between.

I was just thinking of having the most epic setting possible for a battle.  Or somewhere cool to just wander around.  (SFC could use more stuff made for exploration.)

That's kind of what I thought FW.

But do You mean a bigger deal with those huge passages with those freaky tentacle doors?

I suppose we could start with the cloud model and add another mesh inside it.

Years ago I tried to make a V'ger model based off of the studio pics and what little information I could  gather. The idea sounds promising. If someone would like to continue to work I did for the model. Please contact me.
