I could live with that :} and my warp dubbling seting was off so thanks guys for the info

Glad you got your doubling back on! (if you do it manually in the ini, just delete the line altogether) That will make a world of difference, but will be harder on spares...  ;D

Of course one possible alternative would be to allow a few more parts say 15 instead of 10 but boost the cost of spare parts, so restocking them might get expensive.

That is what I suggested here:
http://www.dynaverse.net/forum/index.php/topic,163366907.msg1122708212.html#msg1122708212
though I did not provide a worksheet for it as for the case previously suggested in that thread.

aside: Herr Burt, is it an intentional feature of these custom missions that captured PFs will run off the map or is it an unintended quirk?

Well, you'll have to talk to Dave.  I suspect he intended it to happen that way but i don't know for sure.

In any event, I liked it the first time I saw it.  I thought it made sense, given the campaign.   When you capture a ship full of booty and you send over your prize crew, you want them to hightail it out before they get killed.   You don't want all that treasure you just spent blood winning to head to the bottom once you've taken it.

For a real war-style campaign, it sometimes makes sense to kill all the frieghters.   Better they dine with Davey Jones than get their supplies to the enemies war machine.

then what about the fact all the freighters explode upon capture?

Do you mean in convoy missions (which they always have) or do you mean in these patrols? (I have not captured the freighter in one of these patrols yet.)

Nothing intentional on my part - all I changed was the interteam relationships from allied to neutral within each side, everything else I left stock.  So treat any side effects as features ;D

If I recall correctly, that is normal. We really don't use the cartel slots enough, this server has been an excellent exercise.

Yes, there is a ship setting along the lines of DestroyOnCapture that is the default for pirate ships.

This server has been great in a lot of ways - aside from the sheer fun of it!  I know I've got way less aversion to playing the cartel slots thanks to this one, and have been reminded of a lot of script/pirate interaction details I'd totally forgotten.
