Ok... Im happy with the mesh as it stands, the rest of the detail will be added in with the textures... except the necelles... they need a quick going over with the chisel then im done....

I decided to add the nova style deflector dish... but im still at a loss as to how i should be scaling this... it says under the pic it was a voyager concept.... I think it suits a role of replacing the marquis raider thingy... about that size too... suggestions

That wasn't the ship I was talking about, but awsome none the less. One more off the list. I was going to suggest that due to the fact that the lower nacelle looks slightly different in shape and size to the upper that perhaps they are weapon pods and not nacelles, but I see that it has 4 nacelles so I guess it has 4 nacelles ;D I would give it a couple of phaserbanks, even though it doesn't show any but thats just me.

As for scale we know the upper limit is voyager at 330 some meters, and that nice rounded ship to the elft of this drawing is probably not much more that150m, or maybe less if you use that center hole as a shuttlebay for launching atleast 2 at a time.

Since this is one of the Intrepid Class prototypes I would suggest ...............

Length : 343 m
Beam : 133 m
Height : 66 m
Decks : 15

Somewhere in that range.

And you could call it the Voyager Class in honor of Janeway and the crew if ya like. Perhaps a launch date of 2380-85 so it's in service after the return of Voyager to the alpha quadrant. Just a thought

Would the USS Katherine Janeway be going to far? lol  You know, considering the interesting look of this, why not name it for the first officer, or for Tom paris? Due to the unique front end, you could work a native american scheme, perhaps the class name could be his tribe? Or, with the nacelles it's meant to be fast, so top paris (paris class) or even Torres class would be suitable. The top nacelles could be changed to green for transwarp units (could also explain why they look different in the pic). Possibilites are numerous at this point.

Oh and Akami, Could u send over any specs you got on the davinci? Like if it has weapons and where and what they are? Jayru is waiting on this as I handed the ship off to him for hardpointing at BCU.

Intersting (especially as a prototype).

Would you consider switching in  a modern Intrepid saucer, or even a Promethus? Just as possible varients. (perosnally I'd like to see how a Soul Wolf saucer would look) just some ideas...

To me it looks almost like one of those seperating ships...this being the smaller of them...the rear cutout area could be where it docks/marries with mothership. Just a suggestion...but then we'd have to design a mothership. :P

I think this ship should be a little bigger then a marquis raider, but not as big as an Akira.  I think this would make a find replacement for the Raider, and with 4 warp Engines, It should be designed to be a super fast (unfortunetly, short ranged) ship.  An Escort Vessel perhaps, or some sort of Interceptor to engage ships quickly.  Not a really good science vessel though, kinda designed under the same perameters as Defiant Class ships are.

Also, would like to add that the way the warp engines are laid out, it might have two small warp engine cores instead of one.  This makes it warp capable even if one core goes off line.

Coming along very nicely. SFChakotay was the first officer  ;).

May I submit........

U.S.S. Chakotay Janeway Class Starship

Length : 300 m
Beam : 130 m
Height : 60 m
Decks : 15      .....all based on Voyagers dimensions just altered slightly.

Since Tom Parris rebuilt the delta flyer...........

Belana Tores , Parris class flyer/shuttle

330ish meters seems a little small considering the size of the bridge in the pictures... nice looking ship though :D

Chekov found the Botany Bay and khan hijakced and killed the evil reliant crew in an effort to destroy the genesis device.    Ahh i love it :D The alternate universe rocks.

Na, 300 is about right in my opinion.  The Bridge might not be very big on this ship as it looks like it has cramped internal space.  This isn't a Command ship anyways, why would you need a large bridge if its just an Escort/Interceptor Vessel (Defiant Class ships have pretty small bridges)?  Also, much of the ship might be ran with automated systems which might mean a fairly small size crew.

I really like how you are using the contour of the mesh and building the texture around it, instead of trying to hide the angular sides of the "saucer" portion. Nicely executed!

Kinda bears a resemblance to a Dominion cruise a bit doesn't it?

Nice work, I like the ship but one itty, bitty nitpick, hardly worth mentioning: aren't impulse drives supposed to be red?

If you'll notice, the Akira's impulse engines are somewhat orange.

Only one observation, the windows. They look (closely) like you are looking at the deck from the side. So when you see stations it appears that the crew would be like standing on a wall 90 degress off since you are mostly looking down into the window from above. Not a biggie, but I thought I would point that out on this work of art... :D

BTW they look fine blue to me, I thought they might be a diff type of impulse maybe like ion I've heard mentioned?

[EDIT]  Guess what, I confused you for AKAMI (or is that vice versa?).. Thought I PM'ed him about the Vigilant and not you. So disregard that part about "not knowing if I approached you before" in my latest PM  LOL!!!!
