Mission updates and mission testing
« on: March 24, 2006, 10:42:39 am »
OK, I've been plugging away at some updates to the core NW missions, the new pack is located here: http://www3.telus.net/NuclearWessels/sfc/downloads/NWpack.zip

It covers all the typical #1-19 missions, plus the NW planet/base missions.

The changes are as follows:

  - added the true name of the mission to the end-of-mission debriefing (to help with bug reporting)

  - increased the size of some maps (some of them were pretty damn small)

EDIT: - there were also a few terrain changes, asteroid placement, starting positions etc,
partly to cut down on problems in maps with a gazillion asteroids and partly just for variety

  - went with a standardized mission name convention
I'm not ecstatic about the actual names chosen, so holler if you've got suggestions, but
Patrol for missions where you can draft two wings
Escort for missions where you can only draft one wing
Investigation for missions where you can't draft a wing
(As always, mandatories for enemy territory missions.)
Hopefully between this and the true mission name in the debriefing it should be easy for admins to pull any missions that don't draft the way they want.

  - there were a few places where PP awards or victory conditions were messed up,
    hopefully caught most of them

Note that AI stripping isn't included in this pack, I've posted those missions seperately since they required much more radical changes to the code and need lots of testing before we trust 'em.
