Original Design Of A Frigate Needed For Movie
« on: March 21, 2006, 06:31:32 pm »
Hi everyone! Long time, eh?

I'm 'bout finished with a novel I'm writing and have been experimenting with making movies (full motion & vocals, not slideshow as ISC Theater was). I plan to begin making a sci-fi movie and was wondering if anyone had an original frigate design I can use. I'll be using OP for the space scenes, and you'll be achnowledged in the credits. Just post a link to the model I can download, or a pic or something.

Yeah, I still fly OP. Mainly quick skirmishes as this writing I've been doing is really grueling work, but I'm glad that it's beginng to wrap up. If you'd like to see the movies I've already made, check out my site: http://reptor7.tripod.com. ISC Theater is still there along with some new stuff.  ;D

BTW, if you haven't bought Frey's OP book yet, check it out! Proceeds go to maintenance of this site.

Thanks!

Jim

Are you looking for something Trek, or something totally original?

How about the TOS chandley or anton by Major Racal?

I'd love to these these 2 in a movie. BTW, care to post that novel?

Yeah, completely non trek and original. Jad, I love your fighter! Whoa! Nice! Frigate too! Both would be perfect! Once you wrap it up, can you drop me a line? It'll be another month or two before I start on the movie, so no hurry.

I've got a 3 chapter preview of my first novel Jack Ryder - The Rundorth Faction at http://reptor7.tripod.com/jackryderaccess.html and info on the sequel is at http://reptor7.tripod.com/jackryderaccess2.html. I self published the first one and it did good locally. Once the sequel is done (um, May) I plan to sandwich the two and hunt down a literary agent. Corp. publishing is the way to go. The first book will be completely reillustrated with original stuff from the guy illustrating the second book.

Thanks!

Appreciate the offer, Jad, but I got the book covered. I'll be hand painting the compiled version cover myself. Nice designs you have though, and it's okay to brag.  ;D  I've never done the msn. I have the yahoo one installed but never used it. I used to do the rogerwilco & teamspeak back in the day.

I could always use a proof reader though once I get the first draft printed up. I can't send them out for free to the proof readers but will be able to offer the draft at cost and the proofreaders name will be achnowledged in the final draft. If interested, subscribe to my newsletter on my site as that's where I'll be seeking the proof readers (same for anyone else here who's reading this as well). I'm in the middle of the last chapter right now, and then I have the epilogue to do. Geeze, I'm glad it's almost done. It's a lot more fun to make the movies LOL! Writing can be grueling work, but I'm happy with the way it's turning out.

Speaking of movies, it'll be great if I can use your models. They are fantastic! Thanks!

Jim

Naw. I'll be using OP to "film" the space sequences. Your frigate is fine though. Tweak to your heart's content as it'll be at least another month before I need it.  ;)

To give you an idea of a movie or 2 I already made, check out http://reptor7.tripod.com/paralobby.html. I'm using Lionheads new movie "game" that has a neat tool to make movies: http://www.lionhead.com/themovies/index.html

Hey, I just thought of something. It would be fun for the SFC community to supply vocals for the movie. The characters can be lookalikes of themselves as there's a free "Starmaker" program that you can mold face shapes with. Check out my "Chicken Delivery" movie at my site as the main character looks alot like me (no, not the chicken suit).  I can see Frey in the Captains chair.

 :notworthy:

I guess we could make a Star Trek movie though. Someone did mod some Next Generation uniforms.

What's a sci-fi flick without space fights?  ;D

Story will be character driven taking place on a bridge & planet and who knows what else.  Havn't even made up a synopsis for it yet as I have to concentrate on my book first.
