Invisible Mines

I saw in the Dyna images directory pictures of a ship laying invisible mines,... 

Anyone got any instructions on how that can be accomplished ?

I think this was the non-UAW / non SFB-OP version texture (or you can just edit your current fx1.bmp, but back it up of course):
