Well, Mr. Johnson, I have a CD-ROM with some old... and I mean old... models, all released before SFC2:EAW was released.  But think back; today's models, and there some SFC1 versions among them, especially those beautiful models by Wicked Zombie, might make you not want to use many of those old ones!

As another "classic" model fan, I would like to have those models, is there any way that you can make copies of the CD available provided that it is not violating any usage policies.

I doubt if it would violate any usage policies; they were all publicly posted for download, which is how I got them in the first place.

That's how I've got almost all of mine (some via IMs and stuff), even the ones I used to have and want again...

Are any of Maggots models still around, his were my favorite, lowpoly, but very accurate and top of the line at the time.

Ghost or Ghostrider's Orion's Belt mod for SFC 2 includes a number of SFC1 models (Identified by .PCX textures)

His website is  http://sbatio.tripod.com/

This mod is worth downloading just for the models, but it is a lot of fun...If you like LOTS of firepower on your ships ;D ;D

Those sound mods are at DRS, and the Newships packs were at SFU at one point. I don't know about any others besides the fact all of my own ships are SFC1 compatible.

Yep, there still there WZ...kept the Newships Project open for sentimental reasons I suppose...I might even update the site sooner or later. You guys should dig into WZ's SFC1 models, they are excellent, as usual. His work is outstanding of course.

Well, thank you all for pointing me in some directions.  I'll definately have a look at 'em later, I'm going to sleep pretty soon after I finish this post.

As I think about it, it seems likely in mind that some of the mods I had in mind might--unfortunately--no longer exists.  Models that I tried out around 2000, back when I was a slightly-different person with a slightly-different taste.  I tried all sorts of mods, from simple reskins of the F-CA stock model (that improved the look) to waaay oversized Starbases (with no hardpoints and break models) to some of Reign1701a's earlier sound and graphics mods (not exactly the ones you pointed to WZ, but thanks) where most were voices rather than LCARS noises (before SFC2 came out with voice sounds) and even had one particular TNG-esque firing sound (unique to TNG, no other series had it).
If I remember to check other websites I remember, I'd be pretty sure that there's a good chance that stuff from the War Refit Spacedock for SFC1 and 2 are still there, and that some other earlier mods--like those from Newships (which I have all ten or eleven packs of)--might exist after all.  I kind of missed those mods, mods such as those early models of TNG ships (like a "Galaxy-class deluxe" model or an early EARLY Sovereign-class model or what not, from the SFB to SFC website).

Again, just thoughts of the past SFC days, back when modeler's talents back then paled in comparison to their talents today.  I feel like I'm having a mid-life crisis too early in age...  Anyhow, I'd like to thank everyone that pointed me to a direction.  I might get a couple of lucky and not-so-lucky hits for what I wanted, but I'd at least have SFC1 mods.

A blast from the past....an interesting story....anyone remember the black D-7 I made? I made it extremely powerful, but as a side effect, the game would sometimes put it in during campaign mode...so here you are, pluging away in the blueish Rom I made into a makeshift Fed powerboat, and across the screen you see this black monster closing on you...it even made me jump lol.

Those were the days. I enjoyed putting those mods together.

Any and all models made for the Newships packs are free to do with what you wish...they were retexture and specs only anyway, made with game meshes (with the exception of the chicago, the first true modded SFC ship from BBarr of SFB to SFC fame)...I think there might be a few other modded ships in there in later packs.

I remember... and used that black K-D7.  And, you're right on the money, as WZ's SFC1 models, then and now, cannot be beat.  He is one of the premier SFC modelers.  There are nowadays quite a few and they're excellent modelers, but he is one that usually rises above.  Great stuff, really.

And, thanks for your past efforts, including Newships; I recally spending more time than I should thumbing through every model on the site!!  (More than once or twice  ;) !)

I remember the long talks with WZ, Trekkie and I on MSN....hehe

WZ may be difficult at times, but you all have to remember, he is a corpse after all. I knew if he branched into non-canon design it would be epic. And now we have the proof.
