Hmm I still seem to have a while to go to run up my new post count status..

Anyways- some "new" (I think they're new.. I'm claiming credit for them either way )
concepts to put implace on all Hexxtm brand servers.

~ Fleeting
- Any Cap Ships (DN's/CVA's/BCV's) if escorted (ie have a wing) must have
  one escort ship from their own race. An allied ship may fly with them as the third ship
  This ship must be a line class ship and may not be bigger then a CL.

~ Time on Target kills
I know (or I assume ) for you military types that I'm completely misusing the phrase.
I just think it sounds cool
- Some of the smaller DV/VP hexes will be announced at preset intervals as being important
 to destroy within a certain time limit (1 hour/ 2hours/whatver) This represents important peeps who may be there , research that must be destroyed/ new crisoy creme franchise/whatver

~ Hidden VP hexes
While it makes complete sense that pretty much everyone would know where a races major shipyards/bases/homeworlds would be. The hidden research facility/resupply point has long been
a staple of military history/fiction.
- Only major VP hexes will be created by the admin & known to the other side at the start of the server . Minor (and far more numerous) VP hexes will be placed on the map by each sides leader.
These hexes will (obviously) have to be terrain type hexes (asteroids/ planets etc)
And will only be revealed when captured by the opposing side. (or see RPs)

~Resource Points
RP's would represent resources that may be focused in diferent ways. Each side would start with
a set amount and aqquire more throguh time and various achievements.
Resource points (in different amounts obviously) could be used to
- Build Cap ships (Dn's& Up)
- Increase/support ship limits (ie you could "buy" being allowed to have an extra BCH or DN on the   map)
- Intelligence- could be used to determine a number of your enemy's secret VP hexes
 Could be used to "call out"(aka ambush) an Enemy capital ship

Thoughts? Suggestions? Now's the time to voice your feeble objections rather than wait til hafl way through a server...

What happens when the same race escort ship drops, or doesn't get drafted although sitting in the hex?

Drops are far more infrequent now, most players while winging together have decent enough connections.
Of course if it happenens it happens, but if 2 players can wing a DNH and  Gorn PF tender
in pretty much any fight without dropping I'm assuming they can use other ships as well.

2v2s were generally stable on KCW. Just a few pilots had connection issues. Any 3v3s were flown via ip or gsa.

I'm also thinking of having a policy that if you drop 2 or more matches in a row you have to send in
pics of yourself cutting off your fingers with an acetylene torch before you're allowed to fly on the server again.

Escorts are for carries, DNs would not have Escorts flying with them.

I'd love to use Jahkle's full PBR rules for fleeting, but that would make things way too complicated, even for thos of use familiar with SFB fleeting.  For prctical sakes, only fleeting rules should prevent DN, BCH, and CARRIERs from fleeting togerther.  this keeps the amount of "combat factors" in a hex resonable and the number of AI objects on the board small for stability sake. 

Though, maybe requiring an escort of your own race to wing with you if you are flying a carrier is worth discussion

May I suggest the following 2 and 3 ship combos:


1 DN  + 1 anyrace
1 DN  + 2 provided at least one is same race

1 Carrier + 1 anyrace Escort ship
1 Carrier + 2 ships provided 1 is an Escort and 1 of 2 is same race

I somewhat misspoke (miswrote?) here-  meant a ship from your own race (that's not a carrier, bch etc) as opposed to an actual
Escort type ship.
(Like I'd make the lyran use their Escort vessels)

The real purpose is simply to get rid of the comb fleets, if you want to fly Fed DNH's fine- use Fed ships for fleeting
If you want to Fly ISC- don't throw a Romulan ship in there as weel (although I'm not sure why you would, but...)

Kinda what I'm trying for- except it would be more like

1DN +1 ship (of the same race)
1DN + 2ships provided one is of the same race, and the other is a line ship.

SAme things for the carriers, the problem with escorts is some races escorts are viable combat ships, (AD5, whatver that Fed one is)
 and some are simply escorts, (Rom ones with all the plasma D) and some are.. just useless ( Ph2's FTW!!! )

I really don't honestly see anything much different between a CVA + CLC combo than a CVA + escort ship.
It's betteryes, but not game breakingly so.

If "far more infrequent" means 60% of the time as opposed to 99% of the time, then yes, I agree.
