!st, I know this isn't for the game, but I'm posting here because this is my home.

I started modeling at Taldren, and y'all are who I want to share this with.

Ok, this is from my universe...this is the explorer ship that finds the alien wreck in our asteroid field. Year is about 2050 or so...I'll finallize that aspect before i finish it. This is coming in at about 29,000 polies so far...and only about 15% done mesh-wise.

OK, here's a pic...what ya think so far?

Yes, it's a human ship and yes, it will have a 3rd section housing the drive.

Are you planing any interior action like fighterbays and or cargo bays open with a lil interior detail?

Well, I might do a version with the front bay open...it's really the only bay. This has no weapons...it is strictly an exploration ship, designed to travel to the asteroid belt between Jupiter and Mars (right area?) and then Kuiper belt to find out if it would be feasible to build/operate ships to mine them. While exploring, it comes across an alien vessel that has been pounded to cr@p by the asteroids. I'll be doing a full story with this ship and subsequent ships from that universe.

Kinda stuck right now...know what I want it to look like, but cant figure out the process. Oh well, I'll get it.

Gonna do a Trek ship that was requested in another thread, then back to it.

Thanx F_W, good idea, as his fleet inspired this somewhat.

But, I suspect, you could tell, right?

You'll see one of the differences when i post the next update...or maybe two if I get past this block 1st.

Ok, have the basic shape done...lots more detail coming.

Right now stands at 55,000+ polies...figure gonna be well over 100,000 when done.

I luv it. Except it looks a little tallish from the front like it could be wider maybe. Not to nit pick, just my observation, being that it is much taller than wide it looks like it would be harder to keep under control with thrusters if it had to make adjustments in an asteroid field. I just did tute 1 from Nexus so have that impression fresh in my mind of that ship firing thrusters every 30 seconds to make corrections.

Hey sandman, any chance of us combining on a render or two. I was wondering if my fighter might work as an escort for your capitol ship. Assuming I ever finish it. My problem would be file sharing as I have no way to send fiels over 1 mb that I can think of at the moment. Message me if youd like about it.
