I have been to the promised land and it is flowing with photons and phasers! I posted this in another thread, but was requested to post it here as well. I am stoked about the possibilities!
I got on the server and have flown several missions. I have to say Hats off to the folks that participated in bringing this about. It's absolutely awsome! I'd love to try a campaign from this approach with all the races represented just to see what happens. Forget having 9,265,678,236 rules about what ship you can fly and when and with what loadout, and whose cheese is bigger or smaller. Just have a knock-down-drag-out-kill or be killed-play til you fall out of your chair, server. Kind like the good ol' days, and I've been around long enough to quote scripture and verse of the "good ol' days". Set a login limit to each race and go for it. If you can't fly as one race this time wait til next time. There's a ton of options available with this set up!

this is in regards to the UAW test server. There are a few mission and ship related issues that are being ironed out, but it has the feel of the game I bought 5 (6?) years ago. Check it out!
