I seem to be having almost the same problem with the D-DAD as the D-CCX. What im wondering is  maybe they have to much power I seem to recall from somewhere that if you  give a ship to much power it causes issues. They both  have 600+. Just a thought.

Is there any possibility of getting a weapons chart for some of these new gizmos? What's a quantum phaser, and what type of damage does it do at various ranges? Or a poleron beam? etc... It would help when trying to decipher which ship you want to buy in the yard.  :help:

A Quantum Phaser is a phaser B
A Poleron Beam is an ESG Lance

Standard OP Weapons renamed for TNG with new textures and audio.

FYI ......

Deadman in a Nebx, Myself in a Lak3 in a Tracey Patrol after completing the mission I had lost 75 parts and DM had lost 100

Both ships were bought in game.

Evil Dave Patrol the one w/2 ships .... I lost 75 parts.

Convoy Raid... Parts went up from 45 to 63.

So you still owe me 137 parts ...

Lol, smartass!   :D

I'm thinking we should trim the Damage Control Rating down to reasonable levels on all ships to avoid these kinds of bugs... perhaps the usual 2-10 spares max...

Yeah, but with EW, fighters, PFs, seeking weapons, wild weasels, 6 sheilds, 16 playable races... ;)  :P

SFC3 is not is the same league at all, its a totally separate game, it is not SFC at all but something different. Its closer to Activision Nude Beach Volleyball and Mud Wrestling v4.6. (A real hit with the tweenagers)

The Dynaverse.Net webserver is shutdown for six minutes at ~4 AM central for daily maintenance (and for 38 minutes mondays). So schedule your download accordingly.

How about 10 to 25 parts ranging across the ship classes. 10 for frigates up to 25 for BBs. 2 parts is a spit in the ocean when you take a big hit.

Could not have said that better, Bonk.  With the parts I really wanted to get away with the 2's and 3's I see in other mods. This is TNG, after all. Do you think the high parts level is contributing to the bugs described? If so we can make a compromise I spose.

I suspect so. The only way to know for sure is to try more normal DCR values and test it out to see if this issue persists.

I FINALLY found OP and have been trying to install everything and get it to work.  I was initially getting the models.exe error, so now I'm d/ling the other big file that's been .rar'ed.  I'm really anxious to get going and playing!

I do need help though... I have NO idea on how to get into the Dynaverse or your Servers.  Can you direct me in the right direction?  Do I need any more things other then the list Chris Jones laid out?

Check out these two threads as well:

How to run multiple OP installs

To login to the Dynaverse on Orion Pirates - short version

I reccomend to patch up to 2552, install the directory server update, install OP+4, make a backup copy of the OP folder, then move on to UAW.

Before logging onto the Dynaverse disable all software firewalls and anti-virus software, and if behind a router use port forwarding or the DMZ and allow pings.

Okay guys, I d/led the entire Chris Jones' thread and everything is working fine.  For fun I just tried to get into the Dynaverse (after making a new gamespy account) and everything worked like a charm w/o anymore tinkering!  I didn't actually do any missions with other players in the hex, but I could see the chat room, talk to the other ppl there, move around and did a couple of missions

Here's what I did while i was there:
Took on a patrol mission (won)
bought a new ship
traded in my old one
took on another patrol mission and had my new ship destroyed!
got another, base ship with low bpv
changed the name of the ship a few times
flew around to various hexes.

I'm looking forward to when I can fly with you guys!  The server I was on was the beta server, are you guys on that one?  Or on Forge?

I think the UAW server is seeing more action than The Forge lately.

 8)

I gotta give it some attention soon to address the bugs mentioned. The damn thing is rock solid though, I have not observed it crash once, everytime I login to the server the serverplatform console window is exactly where I left it, indicating it has not crashed. This might be related to the use of a stock map...

Gonna run a MySQL debug test this Sunday so I'm not sure exactly when I can give the UAW test server some love but it will be soon.

FYI you all - when this isn't a test server anymore we'll maintain the current roster and map, just change the name of the server a bit and change the shiplist a bit. No Major changes, but a few minor tweaks. I'll be looking this thread over carefully.
The idea is to keep the UAW Dynaverse up for a very long time..

My main site was hacked and erased from existence because of an exploit in the version of e-107 I was using. Fortunately, the mods were all backed up on my other site. I'll be rebuilding my main site with a new look. Stay Tuned.

Also, Frey caught me on Gamespy one night and gave a compliment regarding UAW. Much appreciated, sir.
