I recently was interviewed by some people from STGU on Skype regarding Star Trek Gaming in general (Legacy.. etc) and UAW. You can listen to it here. http://hailingfrequency.co.uk/  It is podcast number 13.

Just today (2/8) - in this thread - http://startrekforum.stgu.com/showthread.php?p=100051&posted=1#post100051 - I was approached for a podcast interview regarding the Universe At War Dynaverse, and have agreed to it. I plan to prominently mention Dynaverse.net AND BONK!! lol, along with CUGS and JOSH!! lol. I am told these podcasts are widely listened to and quite popular.

Bonk - I have given out links to all files required for the UAW Dyna, and have mirrored them on my own site(s). This takes you from a CD install of OP right to the UAW Dynaverse.

We'll do another interview if you like.

Here's all the links you need to play Dynaverse UAW.

1. Install the game from CD

2. Patch to 2552 link.. http://www.startrek-gamers.com/downloads/pafiledb.php?action=download&id=1735

3. Install OP+ 4.0 link..

4. Install UAW - 1 File (now includes the original big file, and the 1st Official Patch)

5. Dynaverse shiplist - link..
http://www.chrisjonesgaming.com/downloads/beta/UAWDynaBeta06c.exe

6. Missions for the Dynaverse - link..
http://www.dynaverse.net/downloads/sfc2_op/Scripts/UAWDynaScripts.exe

Before you start OP - double click on the batch file that says UAW_DYNA_BETA on your desktop..

7. Have fun...

Current links as of 3/13/06

Keep in mind, ladies and gentlemen, that this is a beta, and we are looking for feedback regarding the server, the map, the missions, the ships, and how much fun you are having.

This file list updated 2/17/06 with new shiplist - thanks to Bonk for discovering a few errors my burned out brain missed, lol.

Excellent!  8)

What about warp doubling?

http://www.dynaverse.net/forum/index.php/topic,163364401.0.html

Or did you intend for the cartel slots to be able to warp double?

For the moment let them double, in fact I have solution for people who may not want to cooperate by installing that file, lol.

although the idea is brilliant.

Anyway to put that into a UAW patch so when the patch is installed, this is as well?

Use NSIS to build the patch installer, or perhaps the clickteam installer has ini editing capabilities? I'll look into it.

edit: ah, it seems only the pro version has that capability:
Quote
Install Creator Pro Added Features

Ability to generate multiple installations in the same install program (e.g. unregistered and registered version, or English and French version)
Only stores the differences between the files of the different versions for a maximum compression
Ability to password protect your install program and to generate user registration codes
Ability to write strings or values to the registry, to a .ini file or into any file
Ability to keep your files external to your install program (CD-ROM installations)
Ability to download files from a server
Ability to test if files are in use
Ability to choose the version of Windows on which to install files

You could include the exe linked above in your agt folder and call it with your batch file...? Or I could make an automatic and silent version of it for just that purpose... (and the reverse for the other batches...)

Now THIS I like - the silent version - hehe - could you do that for me, sir?  The ability to reverse it is the key.

Will do... I expect other admins and modders might find it handy for their batch installers/swappers too.

I got and it works - disabling doubling in UAW, all the versions, and enabling it in 4.0 and 2552.

Try this copy:

http://www.dynaverse.net/downloads/sfc2_op/Mods/UAW-OP.rar

(requires WinRaR to unpack, 40 day trial with unspecified limitations, I'm writing to rarlabs now to find out what the limitations are.)

Here is the shiplist currently in use on the server:

http://www.dynaverse.net/downloads/sfc2_op/Mods/New_UAW_Dyna_Specs_Feb7.zip

I guess it didn't make it into the UAW Dyna patch yet (link #6 in the first post in this thread, which I assume you installed).

Use this to turn off warp doubling for the Cartels too:

Chris -

Thanks for the step-by-step links to getting UAW up and running for the casual OPer (is there such a thing?).

Anyhow, I know there are some difficulties when trying to get UAW to work seamlessly with the SFCOP ModChooser 6.5 (part of the OP Enhancement Package).

I know I would be much more likely to get onboard and enjoy UAW, and I'm sure OTHERS would be more likely given the much appreciated attention you've given SFC/OP/UAW lately, if you could maybe perhaps possibly please please please perhaps give us a step-by-step process for integrating UAW into ModChooser 6.5, for idiots like myself.

Thanks for everything.

And I do mean everything!

No can do on this one, sorry. Its too big for me to download and upload on 31.2kbps dialup, it would take weeks and I couldn't use the connection for anything else.   :(
