OK, cool.

I'll scope that out.

I've tried adding Cardassian hexes to the map, and encountered the following problems:
1) If I add planets and/or bases, the game crashes and I have to reboot
2) If I don't add any planets or bases, just change the hexes, the game loads and seems to populate with ships, but when I go to attack the I get the message "Defender has died already".  Any ideas?

Well, well, well ....... whatdaknow.   Success !!     :woot:

Frustration caused me to give up and be content with only adding the Cardassian and Rakellians.   I had to be happy with adding Breen and Dominion ships to the Cardassian Union and Gorn ships to the Rekellians ....... lizard cousins don't ya know.

BUT NO MORE !!

What I was apparently doing was changing my race name file to match Pelican's definitions file.   This stumped me because when you open his map it lists the Federation first and Neutral last.

When I opened the Multi map and duplicated that order in the definitions file, presto!  New map.   To make the game accept the map each new race needs some planets, bases, and a ship of each class.  Battleship being the exception.

With a slight change in the MetaMap political tension file ........ it an all out war.   Except for the Feds and Klinks.  We're still buds.   8)

I started with a very small map to make sure it worked. When that went as planned, it was time for bigger and better.

Below are ...... the original Multi map with the order of races set by it's original definitions file.   Then my new map with all nine races.   And finally how the map appears during game play.   The thing is so big I couldn't pull back enough to see every race.

Thanks again fellas for your help and assistance.      Success crowns effort !!
