First off- I'd like to thank EVERYONE who gave feedback (positive or negative) for KCW,those of you who organized
and ran houses, made the plans and really fed the game.
And especially to both Bonk and Die Hard- without either of whom KCW wouldn't have even started.
However, with work and personal life whiny crap in shambles right now I really don't feel the need or even desire to
play the game. I had thought I would be fine to hang around for the course of teh server and answer PM's/questions/ concerns
but I'm both bored and tired of dealing with the whiners now.
(Yes- it's mildly ironic that this whole thing is me whining))
- most of you have been fantastic, even with all the stupidity of my incoherent rules revisions. And I do thank you ,
-I've had people send me PM's (Kougar being the latest, but yes there have been others) who have thanked me for clarifying one of the rules even after it went against them, but the majority have not been so nice,
I have PM's (just from the last three days)
PM 1- "Love the server,we're having a blast"
PM 2 "Hey how does this rule work"
PM 3 (after rule went against them) "WTF?? I'm never plaing on you server again!"
Ys- three Pm's in a row from the same person.
As of tonight I've chased off at least 3 people from ever playing again (apparently) and there's another two who may have left, ahven't heard back from them.
And of course the mail that says "If you rule in player xxx's favour (again) we'll never play " which I'm simply confused about
as player xxx is one of the one's never wanting anything else to do with my servers...
And of course the always friendly " If you rule this way, then our house is going to completely do thsi and abuse the rules to our benefit"
(That's me paraphrasing by the way kids)
Unfortunately- and this has been a problem for ages- many of you (including myself back when I cared) take the game way to seriously.
It's a game,-as lame as it sounds it's actually more important to have fun then to win, but over the last severs it's become all about
getting the best 3 players together with the best ships and then jumping players that you outnumber and or outgun to drive them off/kill htem.
Oh and then complaing when the other guys do it to you.
Flown for both "coalition" and "Alliance" seen it form both sides, in equal intensity.
I thought- I honestly thought, KCW could avoid that by using a number of (admittedly) convuluted rules.basically that with enough rules I could make everyone sit back and just fly for the hell of it,no super ships, no super fleets, no idea that this fleet is better than the next, individual race VP's that would (sort of) work to balance out the imbalance of numbers. But apparently I f*cked up because I've still got a litany of mail to go through, most of which (over the past days anyway) seems to show that I'm driving peopel away and (I'd assume) it's better the old way.
So anyway - I'm done with KCW,
I *think* most of the rules are fairly clear <snicker> -I would suggest that any problems be looked at as what's best for fun in the game
But assuming that won't do I'd suggest one person from each side goes to one of the random number generator sites that allow multiple people at once and roll off- high/low makes the decision.
Really it seems to be stable, and with HD and Bonk available there's no reason it shouldn't be able to continue as is until everyone gets realy bored of it.
There are more C7's and C10K's locked in accounts created at the start of the server-
(you didn't think there was only going to be 1 C7 for the whole thing did you? What if mine had gotten killed...)
if all the House leaders want I'll send out PM's with teh account info- allthough to be honest it's proabably easier to ask DH to unlock the shiplist, or even do up a new one (if people want droners etc) I'd suggest the House leaders get together and decide, without me there's 7 of you, perfect number for a vote.
In any event I'll check my PM's until Sunday- so if people want to keep everything as is I'll send out the accounts info I have.
And- again before a number of you decide to take some time to write-
Yes- I'm quitting on you I know that, I do feel somewhat bad about it, but to be honest, I've barely played, I'm not missing it that much
and I really don't feel like going through the Pm's/mail/whatver that aren't written with any valid question or comment, but simply the comment that I'm ruling in favour of one side, that I'm chasing people away from the game etc.
I do (again) want to thank everyone who has flown ,who offered legitimate criticism, and who has had fun
on the server, I apologize (again) but I just have zero interest in this right now with everything going on.
And believe me I do feel bad, I'm not going to get the chance to kick everyone's ass on LCW .
I'm sure I'll be back on a future server sometime, until then-
