Test server is up. It will probably need a few settings tweaks (prices, starting PP & ships etc.) but it looks like a great start!

I'm using the shiplist you sent me as-is for now, we can modify it as we go with the test, if we need to.

I'd forgotten how complete a mod this is and how well it works with the Dynaverse server. (racenames and the works everywhere...) Kudos once again Chris!   :notworthy:

Josh upgraded the server yesterday, its a smokin beast now! (Quad Xeons @ 2.4GHz with 2GB RAM!!!) The serverkit likes this machine, it runs real snappy, missions come up right away. Thank you Josh, its working great!
(The MySQL version is a little dated but should work OK, I figured it best to disturb things as little as possible)

I posted a mission pack here:
http://www.dynaverse.net/downloads/sfc2_op/Scripts/UAWDynaScripts.exe
(a more conservative set than last time)

I also posted an OP warp doubling configuration utility here:
http://www.dynaverse.net/downloads/sfc2_op/Tools_and_Utilities/OPWarpDoubling.exe
(to turn warp doubling off for the cartel slots to play on the server, and to turn it back on again when desired)

I'll leave it to you to post instructions and links on how to get UAW installed on OP and updated to the latest version. (We have some of the original installers posted in the downloads section here I just forget what is what now...) I just make copies of my main OP folder, I just renamed my old UAW folder to the default OP folder for this and installed your latest update.
http://www.dynaverse.net/downloads/sfc2_op/Mods/

I haven't got a webmap up yet, I'm a little confused by the CUGS website setup, I'll need a hand from the CUGS webmaster to get that figured out I think.

Overall I'm very impressed and very pleased so far.  :)

I just about got roasted by the AI on my first mission!  :o

Ah are you working on it now? Is it OK to start the dyna server back up yet?

(and yes, the server is smokin now! I like very much!  ;D)

edit: I'll logoff my remote session till you let me know its good to go again.

P.S. if in future you need to reboot just login to my session, exit the process sentinel, select the serverkit window, press the spacebar and hit #1 to shut the server down properly, thanks. I was thinking to make a common account for you chris and I to be able access it for reboots and shutdowns once I get all the setup and testing work fininshed.

The webmap is up. The webmap shipyard is not quite right yet though, all the ships that should be available are not coming up in the shiplist purchasing column, I think its a YFA/YLA thing, I hope to get it worked out soon.

Found some extra columns in the shiplist for the R-H-S and R-SHK, looks like the usual shipedit glitch. I'll go over it some more tomorrow.

I have several machines with UAW on them and one even has the new beta patch.  If you want any input from a players standpoint let me know.

PS I was shocked to read what some of the issues the beta patch fixes in UAW (repeat overloads scoring no damage!!).  Will this server require the UAW beta patch?  Or are you guys waiting till Chris releases the second UAW patch that is non beta??

Thanks,
Scott

The UAW Dyna will require 'The 2nd Official Patch'. Yes I would like some input on the dyna version - that's different from the beta patch you have now.

Have you posted a link to the version we're currently running on the server? (I have not, in case you did not want it out yet). Once you post that I'll make a summary of required downloads. (I was hoping you'd post all the links necessary for a fresh UAW install with all the patches)

And yes, we certainly want player input on both the dynaverse version of UAW and the UAW dynaverse server setup. Once we get it all tested out I'll reset the server for the actual run, but we need to get some testing in first.

Have not posted formally yet, although I given the links to a few people. I am chewing on the idea of a 'public beta' of the UAW Dyna and having a UAW Dyna bug thread going. The webmap is awesome - great too see that - to be able to bid on ships without logging on, etc.. Gotta love MySql.

I'll let you know.

Add to that - I purchased a ship through the webmap link - that I couldn't purchase in the server shipyard. Quite interesting. It showed up as the HCMS Webmap, lol. But it worked and helped, then got blown up, lol. So I bought it again. Is there any way to get the webmap ship to have a name from the mod? This is quite big, with the mysql, the sheer number of ships, the awesome missions! I can see I want to up the non-player Orion Pirates (O-whatever) to be more TNG-ish as they are easy to beat. My goal is to have this Dyna up and running right up to and during the release of Star Trek: Legacy, promoting the **** out of it and keeping Star Trek alive!

Still chewing, lol.

oh.. Nice job on everything Bonk. You da man!

So is Josh!

Yes, the "webyards" allow purchasing ships directly from the shiplist, whether that ship is present in the in-game shipyards or not. So if the ship is in era and unrestrictred in the webyards settings, then you can buy it. But as I mentioned, there seemed to be a glitch in it that I have not seen before when I tried it on a Dominion account, where it did not list all the ships it sould have in the "General Availablity" shiplist purchasing column, it may be a glitch in the shiplist or my webyards code, haven't figured that out yet.

Currently the webyards are not able to read the ShipNames.gf file, but with some effort I could probably work out a way to get it to read the ShipNames.gf file and randomly pick a name for the ship from the names for that race from the file. For now you can always rename the ship in supply.  Besides, what's wrong with "Her Majesty's Canadian Ship Webmap"?  ;D ;)  I'll look at the possibility of having it read the ShipNames.gf file though it will take a little work, but shouldn't be too hard.

It looks like a YFA/YLA issue with the webyards code... its offering ships that are too old... shouldn't be too hard to find the problem, I probably just missed a setting somewhere...

Looking over the shiplist in detail now... I suspect the shiplist is the issue with the webyards now... not sure though.

There are a number of cells containing only a space (empty fields should be empty - no spaces), looks like there are a bunch of ships affected by the shipedit column duplication and overwite bug as well. I'm going to make an attempt to fix the shiplist and forward the new copy to you, but there will be some information missing due to the shipedit bugs.

Excel is the shiplist editing tool of choice. Shipedit is handy for estimating BPVs and figuring out weapons placements and such but cannot be trusted to create a proper shiplist.txt file.

So far the following ships are affected by the Shipedit bug:

K-CA1K, K-CA2K, K-CA3K, K-CA4, K-D7CT, M-FUZ, R-H-S, R-SHK, A-FUZ, AN-CEA, AN-CGO, AN-MRT, AN-DDHX, AN-ANH, T-FQL, T-FQLR, T-FQS, T-FQSR, T-SCoM, T-CMC, T-SC, T-PR, T-PCR, T-PPC+, T-PFT, T-BWR, T-TK5, T-TK5R, Z-TNG

These same ships have some invalid values in some columns.

I identified these ships by filtering for non-blanks in the "End" column.

I'll keep digging...

Why does the N-PUCK have a BPV of 13239? Something against hockey?  :D
