On Rules & C7's
« on: January 26, 2006, 09:37:28 pm »
First off- seems to be confusion (which is a given and compeletely my fault)
C7 is permitted to run from any fight- but if it does that pilot can't fly it anymore
(unless of course, in the spirit of having fun- the house can **HONESTLY** claim that no one else can fly it)

Second- - I admit the rules are confusing, my fault
(more feedback at the start would have been nice but hey, my rules my bad)
That being said -just FYI- I don't try and use the rules or furteher interpret them to favour any house or players over another.
If you feel I am- please send me something to show where I've screwed up by doing so- if you cant then STFU . (to borrow a phrase)

*** - And what I mean by the C7 thing is that if a hous has one or two players busting their ass for their House, nad a bunch of guys that play for 5 minutes a night
I'm not going to say that if both guys working hard get chased off the the C7 has to go to someone that puts no time into the server.
I don't think any house is in that position, or even close to it, but just fyi.

Sounds like someone thought it would be "cool" to use a rule meant to engage people in the server and PvP to instead make it so that no one could have fun with their C7.  Fantastic.  People can always figure a way to spoil things.  Sorry, Hexx.

the C7 was meant to intimidate on the server, while being winged.. It was not meant to be out there alone because when alone it could die.  As a way of preserving the ship at least, you could run away in a mission with it but you lost your right to use it if you did.  Anyone who would run around in the C7 with no wingmen is taking their chances that they will get caught eventually.  If your team has no available wingmen for the C7, the C7 pilot has a second account in which he can fly whatever he can afford, just like anyone else in the campaign.

I have used my C7 quite a bit in the first 3 days, but not as much lately due to challenges when I am on.  Some may not have used their C7, others (Kougar for example) have used theirs a lot.  There is no obligation for the C7 pilots to use them if they wish not too.  Besides, how many pilots out there would stick around in even numbered matches when a C7 is on the other team?

I must agree completely with D'Fly here. I knew I was getting lucky in thse 2v1s, and while I didn't expect my "reign of terror" to last, I admittedly didn't expect it to be quite so short either. I did lost my right to fly the c7 through a forced withdawl from one 2v1 to many. (GG again, both of you. You know who you are.)

D'Fly has a valid point, I wouldn't expect anyone to stick around and fight me 1v1 as long as I was in that ship, even with a D7W AI wing on their side. I was (and am) looking forward to those even D7W or D5L 1v1s again, where only the pilot's tactical skills can influence the engagement will come into play.

From my pespective, I saw the c7 mostly as a deterrent to attack, a means to run faster missions (Even with the 2v1 AI draws in all but 1 mission), 5 minute planet assaults, and as a means to deepstrike or go where I couldn't resupply for a good while. And I'll admit I fly the heavier iron the best and just prefer it that end of the shiplist, even if I'll fly anything...

Just out of curiosity, which houses still have their C7?  HutDich does, but that's cause I hardly use it.

I have mine, and actually plan to use it a little bit more now that each side has lost one.

What C7 was lost?
Who'd thunk that Star-castling was the root of all evil . . .

Okay, for clarification I lost the right to fly mine, House K'Hunt still retains their c7 battlecruiser.

Unless of course t00l borrowed it for another 1v1 PvP of his...  :P

my appologies guys, I posted above improperly about K'hunt/s house's C7.  What I should have said was that one was destroyed and that the house champion was no longer in another.

I realized it upon returning to work from lunch but there was nothing I could do about it till I got home tonight.  Sorry for  any confusion I may have caused.
