True, but only arguably so. Your server, your rules, I'll still play, but I'll say it again, in the interests of variety, I'd leave them in and R them out till it isnt arguable. I mean... what if after a week of flying a D5 and a D7 we get bored and peeps lose interest? :P

And you could argueably say the same for most D2 servers for those not flying a specialty ship.

I suggest we pull them out.  If say in 2 weeks we wish to spruce things up a bit, re-introduce those couple ships.   It would kinda like represent movement of time for shipbuilding.  and there is a good chance by then that a few C7s would be dead, making a suitable(though smaller) kinda replacement.  It also makes a great C7 killer that finally comes out 2/3 the way through the wars.

Based on the original ship  list ideas I have avoided the FDW and DWL -- didnt think they would be allowed in the game?

That being said it makes a great debate what ship is next best --

D5L
D7W and
D5W

all have there time and place -- so we can expect to see those 3 hulls in great use..throw in either of the other two hulls and kiss every other ship away.

Ya know there is some merit in considering them late in the game to help take down any C7's that are still around --- but well to be honest I liked the idea of a stock ship game for a change.

I had the same thing but there is a solution. 

My SFC is not installed on the C: drive.  The installer however installed the critical files to the C: drive.

Location of mission files:
C:\Program Files\Taldren Software Inc\Starfleet Command Orion Pirates\Assets\Scripts

Location of shiplist and ftrlist:
C:\Program Files\Taldren Software Inc\Starfleet Command Orion Pirates\Assets\Specs

Copy the mission files to the Scripts directory of your game install.  The ship and fighterlists to the Specs directory of your game install.  It is also suggested (but not required) that you copy the shiplist and fighter list to the MetaAssets directory.

You can get the ship/ftr list here as a zip instead of using the installer:

And (sorry if it's a stupid question) did you double-check the destination the mission installer puts the files in?

If it doesn't match where your game is actually installed, then you'll need to move the files.  Wander over to
C:\Program Files\Taldren Software Inc\Starfleet Command Orion Pirates\Assets\Scripts
and copy the missions from that folder (i.e.the ones it installed) to whereever your actual game installation is.

Hurry, the GeeZeRs need ya! :D

I did a fresh install of OP for this server and used the downloads from Friday and was able to get on (after moving the files as mentioned earlier).  I suspect that you may just have a corrupt download.  Do a fresh download and try again.

I have provided a full installer for KCW to eliminate the possibility of installation issues.
It is intended for an intact OP with OP+4 install. It will back up your current shiplist files and restore them on uninstall. It will not backup or restore scripts however, only install the ones required. It will detect your OP installation folder and prompt you to confirm that it is indeed correct. It will detect whether or not you have OP+4 installed (which must be installed on the same copy of OP as detected in the install folder confirmation) and refuse to install if the correct version of OP+ is not installed. It will also detect whether itself is already installed to avoid backing up the mod files instead of your previous files, which would result in the loss of your previous files. It will create shortcuts on your start menu for the uninstaller (use when you wish to use your previous shiplist), the webmap and a server info document.

New KCW player reccomendations:
Ensure you are patched to 2.5.5.2
Ensure your shortcut to the game is correct, and use it.
Ensure other mods are uninstalled.
Ensure OP+4 is installed on the copy of OP you wish to install KCW to.
Install KCW.

Current KCW player reccomendations (if you wish to use this installer):
Uninstall existing KCW mods from the add/remove programs dialog.
Restore your OP+4 shiplist and fighterlist to \Assets\Specs and \MetaAssets
Install KCW.

If you are one of the current KCW players having serious issues, I reccomend:
Uninstall existing KCW mods from the add/remove programs dialog.
Uninstall OP and delete the installation folder
Install OP from a valid retail CD.
Patch to 2552
Install OP+4
Confirm shortcut to the game is correct (pointing to StarFleetOP.exe and the correct "Start In" paramter - the easiest way to ensure this is to find StarFleetOP.exe in the installation folder, right click and copy it then right click on some empty space on the desktop and "paste shortcut" - use this shortcut to launch the game)
Install KCW.


For admins and the curious, I have also uploaded the NSIS installer script and mod files. The package should compile as is. Note that the current version of NSIS (2.13) appears to have issues with Win95/98/NT, however I expect this will be fixed soon in a new release. I am still using version 2.09 until this issue is fixed. Before asking questions on NSIS, RTFM!! ;)

It was the fighter list and several of the TG Missiobs.

I got them fron Chuut and now I can log on.
