After spending days trying to resolve issues getting online to play the KCW dyna...I am seeking out your expertise in the matter after trying nearly Everything that others recoomended. Basically its the same problem that  Madelf was having on the SFC2.net forum.  I can get to the pick server page. I pick KCW and then the mini window for Initializing server pops up. I then get kicked immediately to the desktop.

FAQ-I completely removed ALL traces of OP and connected programs through uninstall and then inthe registry.  Reinstalled a fresh version of OP along with a fresh dl of the dyna enhancement pack. I then installed the two patches for KCW.  I still get the same result. If you could leave me a time we could get together on this on TS maybe or MSN you could even take a look for yourself in my computer...i just dont get it.  Also yes the shortcut is properly hooked to the exe...and i even tried the 98 settings to be able to type in the info join area for dyna...nothing keeps it from kicking me to the desktop. Funniest part is that Friday the first hour the dyna was up...i played it for like an  hour...windowed out by accident and had to do a hard reboot to unfreeze computer...its been like this ever since. I even used the XP to take my computer back to before the crash...and then did everything i listed up top...NADA!  thanks for any help you can give guys.

Warchild, I may not be Bonk, but I am a pc technician. there are several questions I need to ask:

1. I need the specs of your computer.

2. What directx version you have.

3. What flavor of windows do you have? Home or Pro, SP1 or SP2

Skip this step and let me know how you do. I hate to say it, but uninstall the works and delete the game folder.

I suggest the following:
1) Do a clean install from a retail CD.
2) Patch to 2.5.5.2: http://www.dynaverse.net/downloads/sfc2_op/patches/SFCOP_Patch_2500-2552.exe
3) Install Firesoul's OP+4: http://klingon.stasis.ca/OP_plusrefit/  with all options (includes the directory server and shortcut fixes)

Disable all software firewalls and anti-virus programs completely.

If you are behind a router you will need to forward ports 2300-2400 TCP&UDP and 47624 TCP to login. (allow pings from the WAN) Port forwarding applies to a static LAN config. The following site may be of assistance in this: http://www.portforward.com/

Some ADSL and cable modems have router capabilites in them that the ISP does not tell you about and often poorly understand themselves.

Understand what a private IP address is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_IP_address

Determine if you have one: "ipconfig /all" at the command prompt on WinXP/NT or Start..Run.."winipcfg" on Win9x.
