KCW Challenges Summay

OK to (hopefully) sum it up

- Anyone may challenge anyone from another House
- The challenger chooses either the ship (D7w,F5 etc) or the venue
   (GSA,map hex etc) The challengee chooses the other
   * Both of these are of course also choosable by mutual consent
- A PVP House (the whole house) has one free decline of a challenge a week
  However-no player is forced to accept a challenge more than once a day
- A Territorial House player is under no obligation to figth a challenge.
  If they decline a challenge however, tehy may not issue a challenge until they
  have accepted one.
 (Of course if two players who have both declined challenges wish to fight they can)
- Once a challenge fight has begun, you are not allowed to withdraw.
  (well you can, but you count as dead)
-A House Leader/Champion (the C7 guy) may retreat from battle with the C7
 if they wish- but another pilot must be found for it (ie your side keeps the ship, but you can't fly it)
 Of course if the C7 is destroyed in a challenge it's gone.
-A House Leader may ask a champion from their house to fight in their place if challenged

Ok, to hopefully sum it up, GSA you cant capture. GSA is for whoosies.

You can capture on gsa Dizzy... but it has to be a team battle option I believe, downside is it starts ships close to eachother... and its only good for 1v1 or 2v1.

The mission scripts dont hold some of us. I get more problems running missions on the map than anywhere else, and thats saying something. ;) IP is my preferance for facing a player.

sanfeng is referrring to the Huge Fleet scenario allows for 1v1 and 1v2 or even 1v3 with captures. Team A is the 1

ok, done a couple challenges, and here  are a couple points/questions that come up due to some stuff being in other threads and some not addressed.

1- you fly challenge in Dyna, you lose=you lose your ship(not talking about regular drafting here, just challenges)
2- you fly challenge in GSA, you lose=you lose the match, not your ship in dyna

with that in mind, i would think all challenges will end up in GSA(or IP) due to the simple fact that not everyone can afford to lose their ships in Dyna, and if in Dyna you decide on say D5W ships, it may take a while to both buy one and meet up, only to lose the expense of one if you lose.  If you go to GSA, shiplist provides it, and no loss of prestige.

3- as house leader I was challenged and chose to bring C7 while letting the challenger bring on any other ship in the campaign that he is "legitimate to fly" as per rules.  He already knew I might, being the house leader.  Here is the fun part.  If as house leader I bring on the C7 and lose, even in GSA, I LOSE MY SHIP(if explodes) or rights to the C7 should I run(in rules, only ship that can run in a challenge is the C7.  Is this right? I abide by it till I hear otherwise.

This so far has been the interpretation of what the rules state over the different threads.  I have chatted with KHH on this, and hopefully they agree with the statements above.

I am hoping Hexx or someone says "yes it is this way" or "no this part is wrong because>>>" Until then, I, and I hope others, will use it this way.

Per the rules:

Any ship may disengage from a challenge, however, that pilot counts as "dead" for VCs etc.
If the House Leader's C7 disengages from a challenge, the C7 is kept by the house, however, the disengaging pilot loses all rights to the C7 for the remainder of the server.  Optionally, a house leader may nominate another house member to "champion" him in combat (thereby protecting the C7), or the house leader may fight under their allowed "alternate" account.
Be careful of accepting challenges.  The challenge could be "D'Emon Fly, I challenge you to a duel of D7Ws.".  If you accept the challenge, you are allowed to pick the hex of the combat, or the GSA / IP options.

I have a problem with this part of what you just posted:

Per the rules:

How can any ship disengage from a challenge when it clearly states in other parts of the rules that all challenges are to the death?   as per this part:   
"Battles will be fought to the death, any dropping /lag etc will result
in the nullification of the challenge, unless (of course) it can be shown
that the battle was already over for all intents & purposes."

also:
 "The BPV is irrelevant, but the ships MUST be agreed upon beforehand.
The challenged player is under NO requirement to fly anything bigger
or smaller than they want. The onus is on the challenger to match the
ship type. "

This last statement , directly from the rules, states that the challenged player is to fly what he wants.  the onus is on the challenger to mach. 

HEXX, I am very greatfull for the work you have done with this whole campaign,, but is there any way to get all (or some) of the contradictory rules clarified?

Team Battle option on GSA? Whats that? Can you do a 2v2 and 3v3 with captures?

I do not believe so Dizzy... not that Ive seen anyway. Only mission type that Ive seen capture allowed is the aforementioned (Huge Fleet) wich only allows for 1v1, 2v1, 3v1... So its not really relevant unless its 1v1. Wich might be good, at least no ai interferance so you can be garanteed a fair matchup.

I was captured today at a hex after blindly throwing marines at opponents systems... but even then I was as good as dead. Still got to shake some of these habits of H+Ring damnit...

give me back my ship Risky...  :-[ :'(  ;D

btw Dfly... whatever the rules clarification are, it was a fair match as I understood. I knew what it was, and took a chance of you possibly making a mistake. GG! Let me know if your ever too drunk to fly, and we'll do it again. ;)... There do seem to be different interpretations on how it should be played out. I figured, 'I' as the challenger, chose the venue and left the ship selection to you... c7 was availible to you, and not to me so I could only take what I could. If I had selected the ship, then you would have been limited to matching equal or lesser... (but Im not sure)... I assumed if I had defeated your c7, it would have been lost to your house... so I took the chance.

To illustrate, let me use a couple of quotes directly from Lord Hexx in the first post of this here thread...

See the italicized word, the challenger chooses either the ships or venue.  The challenged picks the other, or there can be mutual consent, ie, we both agree to take whatever ship we're flying that day and fly to hex XX,YY to fight.

- Once a challenge fight has begun, you are not allowed to withdraw.
  (well you can, but you count as dead)

The parentheis here tell you that you can withdraw, but you cost the same as a kill.

-A House Leader/Champion (the C7 guy) may retreat from battle with the C7
 if they wish- but another pilot must be found for it (ie your side keeps the ship, but you can't fly it)
 Of course if the C7 is destroyed in a challenge it's gone.
-A House Leader may ask a champion from their house to fight in their place if challenged

And here it specifically spells out that the C7 may flee in abject terror, only the fleeing pilot loses all right to fly the C7 for the remainder of the server.

Please confirm that in my editing to make the multiple quotes that I haven't accidentally edited the words of our esteemed Admin.

I concur on all parts of your statements Julin and thanks for clearing some up, with only one exception.

the part where who picks what when and where.  As per rules in this thread it is the challenger who chooses unless mutual agreement, whereas on the full rulespages it says the onus is on the challenger to match whatever the challenged chooses as per ship.

I would just like Hexx to state which one is in fact correct as they contradict.
