Redshirts must have had crappy insurance policies... or else Starfleet would never have been able to finance the Connie refits for having to pay all the death benifits from the Enterprise's 5 years under Kirk. ;)

Ya, thats why they Made everybody wear red in the Movies.  ;D  But a change to the Tri-color scheme in the TNG era might be an indication those insurance rates were goind down by then.  ;D  Just joking.
