I'm proud to announce:
« on: January 03, 2006, 11:10:09 am »
After my SAT II Math Test on January 28th, development for The Final Frontier will begin.

This will be a "mirror mirror" style campaign, with the Federation and one other race (Possibly the ISC, or Romulons) waging war with the Imperial Empire and Alternate universe Klingons.

There will be a backstory to this, more news to come.

I'm going to be doing some research on making a promotional "trailor" for it either through SFC2, or SFC3.

Eitherway, this campaign will be for OP, and hopefully, will be done sometime in July.

Actually I got the scores back today...

But uhm... I'm gonna be doing some travelling for a couple of months, so unless I get my hands on a cheap laptop, I'm not gonna be able to work on the mod.

unfortunately I don't have a credit card... =\

And I only have about $500 in my bank account, which will probably be going to either car insurance or a new computer (depending if my parents pick up the tab on the car insurance)

Do you honestly think you can put together a server by yourself? I think you ought to start another thread called 'Skyflyers Server Development Blog'.

I'd be very interested in knowing how you think you are gonna go about it and want to see the notes on all the issues you end up facing and how you deal with them. It would be most enlightening especially to others that would think they'd want to give their hand a try at a server.

This is an opportunity to document a server in development. It hasnt been done and if skyflyer would do us the honor of a daily blog on all the issues he's gonna come up against, someone could go back and condense it into a how to. Get me?

I'll ask for help if I need it, once I get to that point. Right now, I think what is going to be most time consuming is the retexturing (which I was about 75% the way done with before I lost all of the data on my drives), and the shiplist (which I was about 20% the way though, before I lost all of the data on my drive). That was about 8 months ago, and I haven't had the will to work on it since, but that should change.
