Poly Count Reduction
« on: January 07, 2006, 12:03:45 pm »
Does anyone have any good resources for free polygon count reduction tools? I am only looking for something that will reduce the polys in a bitmap image, like reducuing a 3.00 mb fca4.bmp to 768 kb.

The other way is to reduce resolution of the bmp file. Go from 16 million colours down to 16-bit colours or 8-bit colours. Means shading wil not work right but if it is all solid colours and few it works fine.
People always said they wanted the government to listen to them and now the government is listening, taking notes and names...and coming to see you soon!

Remember the axiom of big government bureaucrats: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. When, finally, under the crushing weight of taxes and regulation, it stops moving, subsidize it.

Thanks, DD and GaFY. Both methods work well. I didn't realize it was that simple. Must be losing my mind. :screwloose:

I'll have to try that.

Thanks DD
