2V2 TOURNEY THIS SATURDAY(JAN 7TH/06)???
« on: January 02, 2006, 07:27:32 am »
2V 2 TOURNEY

fly with whoever you want be it cugs team, dyna teams or cug/dyna team

Tourney open to All pilots
OP version Firesoul's 4.0
Sign up Time: 8pm est  Just say ME and Wings Name in Game Spy OP Lobby  start time will be 20:30 p.m. eastern sharp
Rules in Effect for Tourney :

matches to be  best 2 out of 3/////Ships and Races maybe changed at the start of each game, but not once you have launched into a game and then have to restart that same match

Game Speed is 8 unless agreed by both Parties

NO X tech   NO heavy's   No dreads

YOU CANNOT have a carrier and a droner flying together //// JUST ONE OR THE OTHER PER SIDE/////  a droner is considered 5 drones that con be fired at same time,4 or less drones is fine  example KLINK A5D IS NOT A DRONER......A MIRV COUNTS AS ONE RACK./////FOR FIGHTERS AND PF'S-->IF IT SAYS CARRIER ON THE SHIP DESIGNATION,THEN IT IS A CARRIER

2 Min. Lag/Drop Rule: Lag must be called with in first 2 minutes of Game start. if drop occurs before 2 minutes of game has been played , its an automatic RESTART. When more than 2 minutes have elasped in Game and a Player CRASHES or DROPS, The Wing must Play on to Games End unless Mutually Agreed by All parties to Restart Game/Match

10 Min. Forfeit Rule: You must Start Match within 10 minutes of Match Time or Team who doesn't show forfiets the Match

Take What U Can GET:  DYNA LOAD OUTS    for the Cugs players that don't understand dyna load outs, that means u have a certain amount of bpv for your ship, but u can use as much bpv to buy all the supplies you want, including fast drones or the best fighters/pf's or both, provided they DO NOT contrivene the no droner/carrier match up

round #1 lite cruiser only bpv 155 late

round  #2  frigate only 120 mid

round #3  frigate/lite cruiser mix 150 early<---has to be one of each

round #4  lite cruiser/frigate mix optional  130 mid

round #5  frigates only 125 late

round #6  lite cruiser/frig 150 mid  <---mix optional

round #7  lite cruiser only  110 early

FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP  MATCH UP,PROVIDED BOTH TEAMS AGREE,THEY MAY TAKE ALMOST ANYSHIP THEY WANT UP TO 270 BPV's INCLUDING  DREADS,  LATE ERA  BUT  NO X TECH ,SPEED TO BE AGREED TO,WHATEVER TERRAIN THEY WANT. DYNA LOAD OUT--------->OPTIONAL ///// ALL OTHER RULES STILL IN EFFECT/////     IE:SAME RACES OK,IDENTICAL SHIPS  ARE NOT OK. CARRIERS/DRONER COMBO'S STILL NOT  ALOUD TO BE FLOWN TOGETHER AND THE MIRAK SHIPS THAT ARE CARRIERS AND ARE ABLE TO FIRE 5 OR MORE DRONES AT SAME TIME  ARE STILL NOT ALOUD TO BE FLOWN ECT ECT
IF BOTH TEAMS DO NOT AGREE TO THIS,  Then whatever your last round was played in,the next round shall be considered the championship round

SOME MIRAK CARRIERS  also have the ability to fire 5 or more drones at the same time. These ships WILL NOT be aloud to be flown in any of the matches.so please play close attention, when you select mirak carriers.
Also, some mirak droners DO NOT(most do) have a droner designation. If you select these ships, they will be considered droners,so your partner WILL NOT be able to fly a carrier with you

DEFENITION OF DRONER=ABILITY TO FIRE 5 OR MORE DRONES(A MIRV COUNTING AS ONE

DEFENITION OF CARRIER/TENDER=IT WILL BE IN THE SHIPS DESIGNATION

to avoid cheese as best we can,NO 2 IDENTICAL SHIPS can be flown by a team ; example 2 klink ad5's or 2 lyran dwlp's  ect ect.YOU MAY HAVE 2 of the same race, just not two identical ships.

these rules will be finalized by thursday evening,so if u have a concern about cheese combo's,post your reply here

 thx you Josh....very much appreciated

i would also liek the comunity give me their input on the bpv's    do you think they are what the dynaverse players are looking for in a tourniment.this tourney is not only to satisfy dyna players with lower bpv's but also to introduce Cugs players to dyna load outs and the fun of filling up your supplies, ilregardless of ship value.sSo please post in here, what you think. This is pretty much being put together on the fly, plus taking into consideration the KCW campaign will kick off sometime n the near future....ty

The only thing I would point out is that the late CL fights will be dominated by heavy war destroyers, unless you specifically exclude them.

at this time,i am thinking, unless there is a huge outcry about heavy war destroyers,i will leave them in  as playable ie: 2 per side .My reasoning is,simply for expediency and that there maybe a bunch of players that don't know how to tell them apart. This will be finalized for sure by thursday evening

I think the idea is great, and would leave the heavy frigs in.  Unfortunately it looks like I will be out of town for the weekend so I will end up missing this one.  :-[

How do plan on determining on what is a frig or lite cruser?

Movement engery or if it is in the frig slot and or ligth cruser slot?

What is the penality for picking a wrong ship(s)?

i am trying to keep this simple........whatever is shown as a frigate in the frigate slot, will be a frigate,if you go to lite cruiser slot, and it is there.....they are lite cruisers. The only exceptions are basically about  CARRIERS,THAT HAVE 5 OR MORE DRONE LAUNCHERS[/glow],which ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE FLOWN. movement ratios do not have a bearing on what constitute a frigate or lite cruisers for this tourney.

hmmmmm as for picking a wrong combo, either side can declare a wrong combo if done within first five minutes.F-12'S should be taken by all concerned.Go back to room, and state your case.If they subsequently pick a second wrong combo, they forfit the match despite the amount of damage they have scored on the opposing team. IF in the same game or a later game, they pick a second wrong combo, automatic forfiture will occur once proven with F-12's and again, within 5 minutes of start.
If the team that declared a bad combo (in the first 5 minutes),is proven wrong, this too will count against them. If they declare a second wrong combo in that game or any subsequent matches in which they are again proven wrong (within 5 minutes of start)they will forfit that game AUTOMATICALLY.YOU GET 1 SECOND CHANCE EITHER WAY.
If more than 5 minutes have elapsed, and then you notice a bad combo
,TO BAD,play goes on,and the team that didn't notice it,in the first 5 minutes has to deal with it to the bitter end.  No penalty against the team at all ,that got lucky and took a wrong combo,in which the opposing team failed to notice it within the time constaints
This is the best i can do to keep it simple

If everyone had the same rough encyclopedic knowledge of the SFC ships I'd agree.  But many (most?) don't.

Not sure putting the requirement to catch the error on the side that is not breaking the rule is right.  Instead, penalize the side that broke the rule.

If a team realizes they brought the wrong combo to the game and declares it in chat in the first two minutes, then a restart…using legal ships will be done with no penalty to either side.

If a team brings the wrong combo and it is discovered after two minutes, or even after the game is completed, then the offending team loses that game.

Calling a “wrong combo” must be called by the opposing team before the next game is started.  If the wrong combo was taken in the final game of the match then it must be called out to offending team and the tourney moderator before the next match is started.

i suspect most  people will be on ts with thier respective clubs, and should have plenty of access to encyclopedic knowledge, from thier own experience, but defenately from others that are on teamspeak. If you don't know.....ASK!!! One other thing, the reason these rules are going up tonight, are so people can find a combo, they want to fly ,for a respective round, and will have time to discover,if that combo meets the ship selction perameters

thier is ample time(5 minutes) to view all ships via probe or again ask questions on ts from fellow players as to what others are flying. To do it your way strictly speaking, the losing team could(not saying it would), could notice the other side has a "BAD COMBO" and wait until they are virtually defeated before declaring a bad combo .As such, the onus is on both, for declaring "bad combo" and being right and declaring" bad combo" and being wrong. The onus is on both sides to get it figured out within 5 minutes correctly

If a team realizes they brought the wrong combo to the game and declares it in chat in the first two minutes, then a restart…using legal ships will be done with no penalty to either side.

it be nice if the offending team, taddle on itself, but i don't see that happenning, hense onus is still on both,to figure ti out in 5 minutes

If a team brings the wrong combo and it is discovered after two minutes, or even after the game is completed, then the offending team loses that game.

I thihk that this would unnessacisarily  prolong the games. Most especially if after a game, one team comes and says, the other team had a wrong combo. You have to give a certain amount of leaway to the teams to figure things out themselves and to do it faster than a whole game later

again, the 5 minute rule addresses this, with both sides knowing that after that time frame(5 minutes),they are S O L =SHIAT OUTA LUCK.It works for  or against both sides.Getting advice from a MOderator in a 2 out of 3 match would slow things down. This is not what we want,IMHO.

But i should add to the penalties ie: first one vs second IE: BAD COMBO,applies only to that 2 out of 3 match up.The slate is clean for the next round

Or on TS with their partner who also doesn't know.  Many can't change channels to ask.

But the other team took the wrong ships.  They farkled up.  How, once the game starts, can a player check to see if the ships taken are good or not unless closing the battle and checking?

--------------------------------------------------------------

it be nice if the offending team, taddle on itself, but i don't see that happenning, hense onus is still on both,to figure ti out in 5 minutes

I do see them "taddling"on themselves if there is a penalty for not declaring the honest error.  Otherwise, hell why not try to get away with it...no penalty for trying.

---------------------------------------------------

Only problem I see with this Green is that I would foresee a team purposely take a wrong combo, note the ships the other team took, call a wrong combo, get no penalty, get the ships that are best suited to go against the combo, etc.....      sounds like a great scouting tactic.

you have to have some faith in peoples abilities to learn the rules...all i see here is you saying  you have no faith in those peoples abilities to learn.also,if someone doesn't know, isn't this the chance for them to ask?------------------------------------------------------------

thier is ample time(5 minutes) to view all ships via probe or again ask questions on ts from fellow players as to what others are flying. The onus is on both sides to get it figured out within 5 minutes correctly

as pointed out in this thread later, they'll all have probes to use to verify right ships combos.also,i have started another thread of revised rules, which greatly simplifies what can and cannot be taken,IMO--------------------------------------------------------------

it be nice if the offending team, taddle on itself, but i don't see that happenning, hense onus is still on both,to figure ti out in 5 minutes

I do see them "taddling"on themselves if there is a penalty for not declaring the honest error.  Otherwise, hell why not try to get away with it...no penalty for trying.

maybe i am wrong, but i basically believe in  my opponents honourability, but if it makes things easier,i'll add a rule that states,"if in the first to minutes of the match,if a team notices they are flying a bad combo, they may restart the game without penalty.Between 2 and 5 minutes regular rule applies,as does the penalty  :)---------------------------------------------------

I thihk that this would unnessacisarily  prolong the games. Most especially if after a game, one team comes and says, the other team had a wrong combo. You have to give a certain amount of leaway to the teams to figure things out themselves and to do it faster than a whole game later

If the rules are followed, then arguements should be to a minimum, especially if the rules are followed. If they are in black and white, how can they argue---------------------------------------------------

again, the 5 minute rule addresses this, with both sides knowing that after that time frame(5 minutes),they are S O L =SHIAT OUTA LUCK.It works for  or against both sides.Getting advice from a MOderator in a 2 out of 3 match would slow things down. This is not what we want,IMHO.

i know we can all say we have had bad experiences in the past.but right now,i will give way to  trusting people playing the game.Besides,if they try it once an dget away with it,then they try it again, and eventually you have a patern, then we'll all know about this person,in due coarse

Still don't understand the Dyna Loadout concept.  Does this mean as long as your basic ship is under the BPV threshold that you can then trick it out with whatever you want? (i.e. max mines, marines, parts and drones?)  If that is not what it means, and the loadouts affect your bpv, then where can the bpv values for mines, drones, parts, fighters, etc. be found?

Wow.  Almost a year and I still sound like a noob.
