I haven't had Popeyes in a very long time (they don't have one here, can you believe it?), but from what I remember it was fairly good if you got the spicy stuff.

I prefer to do it myself...fried chicken, homemade dumplings, mashed 'taters, and some sort of vegetable.

But then, I love to cook

LOL... guess you'd have to try the kfc in the one horse town I live in... changing the deep fry oil is a new years tradition.
A three piece meal is a sure fire cure for constipation though...
What was the chicken that kfc used to have... tender roast? Now that I did like, didn't have to chew through an inch of batter to get to the meat.

KFC all the way.  I tried Popeyes a couple of times and the batter was gross.

Speaking of A&W, I loved it as a kid when they brought the food out to your car and served the root beer in glass mugs.  Great onoin rings too.  I hadn't seen one in decades until one opened nearby so I tired it.  It was a huge dissapointment, typical fast food chain burgers, paper cups, not much selection, standard drive-thru, and the onion rings were the armor plated, prefrozen type like Burger King's.   :P

There's a Roy Roger's chicken place?  We had a Kenny Roger's Roasters around here at one point (the taste wasn't worth the price in my book).

Btw, they still have an old A&W or two around here in Oregon.  There is one at the coast with the old drive intercom/menu's and the root beer (we had one in Eugene when I was a kid, but it's now a chinese restaurant) is served in frosty glass mugs!  Mmmmm.  Most of the ones in my area, though are paper cup versions, but every time I go to the coast I make a stop for some rootbeer.

Church's Chicken is better, so I voted for "Other", but you have to admire the side items at Popeye's, and the chicken is prety good too.

Last Roy Rogers I ever saw was there in Pennsylvania. Pretty good eatery. But Chicken, Yuck all around.  ;D
