The Galactic Foreign Legion
« on: December 30, 2005, 05:20:37 pm »
Hello fellow Earthlings… I mean Romulans, or, whatever! I am Earth from the Galactic Foreign Legion and I’m here to say what’s up to everyone and introduce the GFL to those of you who may have not heard of it. Let me begin by introducing myself to you!

I’m Earth and I am the Ambassador of the Starfleet Command III division in the GFL. I hold the rank of 11, also known as Lieutenant Commander. I have been in the GFL for just over two years and am approaching my third year as a SFC3 gamer. I am from Rhode Island, USA, and I’m sixteen years old, one of the youngest in the GFL. I joined when I was just fourteen years old, before the regulation was passed cutting off the youngest recruiting age at sixteen. Overall I enjoy my duties in the GFL and look forward to many more years of service. Anyway, that’s enough about me. Let me tell you some things about the GFL.

The generic description on out website says: “The GFL is an online gaming organization that was founded in August of 1999. We grew quickly to become the largest Starfleet Command fleet on the web. We now have members all across the world and have expanded our charter into other online games. The GFL is a paramilitary style gaming group whose members put excellence, honor and leadership above mere winning.” Now although I accept this description, if I were to put into my own words what I thought about the GFL I would say that this organization is about having fun. If no one is having fun then people in positions like mine are not doing their jobs. We are about honor, respect, and integrity most importantly.

The GFL is run like a paramilitary organization and our common greeting is the military salute, shown in text by typing “<S>.” It shows respect towards one another and for newcomers it’s a great way to break the ice! Nonetheless through these strict rules we keep ourselves organized and having fun through the multiple games that GFL supports.

The GFL runs a public modified dynaverse for all players, even those not in the GFL uniform.

Below I listed some useful links that will come in handy should you have interest in the GFL:
Our main website: http://www.gfluniverse.net/html/index.php
Our forums: http://www.gfluniverse.net/html/modules.php?name=Forums

You can find all the necessary information you need within those links such as Rules and Regulations, Dynaverse Rules, and even download the Legions at War Mod.

Thanks and I hope to see you soon.

Salute,
