Universe At War - Image heavy
« on: December 23, 2005, 10:30:38 pm »
In preparation for the CUGS version of UAW, I am laying low on GSA and teamspeak for the moment and relaxing with the family. My son and I run UAW battlefests on the LAN to look for balancing issues..

I am also wanting to illustrate some of the battles in the 'Star Trek XI' thread in the Fan Fiction forum - using UAW - that will come in due time.

Here's some fun we had recently - I was Fed - my son was Borg..

More to come - I have lotsa web space!

Beta 9 UAW
« Reply #4 on: January 12, 2006, 11:41:52 am »
Hello Y'all

'In a few days', I'll be releasing Beta 9 of Universe At War - what that really means is I'm a step closer to a '2nd Official Patch'. Look for us  on GSA. I have a theory I'll be testing regarding engine doubling in the UAW 'cartel' races namely..

Gorn
Lyran/LDR
Mirak/Kzinti
Imperial Alliance
Aliens/Andro
Hydran
Tholian
Ferengi

stay tuned!

I think UAW should stay away from making  "2nd Official Patch"
If thay want to play UAW thay can but make it like a patch na.
ship's and ever thing UAW has nothing to do with SFC-OP that's what. I think look's good Chris
did a lot of work but that's it.

Universe At War Holidays for SFCOP
« Reply #6 on: January 22, 2006, 07:55:51 am »
Thanks for your opinion Star but UAW has everything to do with 'SFC-OP' in the sense that the game is called 'Starfleet Command - Orion Pirates', and UAW is a mod for the game. It approaches my vision of what a 'Star Trek' game is - much like Generations At War does for SFC3. The '2nd-Official Patch' simply means I am improving on the mod to make it better for league play, etc. It is not on Official Patch for the game itself. As it stands now, UAW, in all its forms, is in demand on Gamespy and from both of my sites.

I welcome all opinions, suggestions.

Universe At War 2nd Official Patch and Music!
« Reply #8 on: January 22, 2006, 01:44:24 pm »
Hello Indy - no set timetable on the next patch for the mod as it is still in beta - but I can tell you there will be a new fun version of the mod as well as the multiplayer match friendly version. Also, there's some new downloadable music for the mod. It's been out a while, but not up for download. Get it here - http://www.cugs.org/html/patches1.html - The music is not required to play the mod, but will enhance it greatly.

your saying UAW is like a big mod pack right and  it's  your vision of what  'Star Trek' game should look like right,  I'm not butting UAW down at all.  Chris you have done good work with it but it's still to big sorry to say that.

Our gaming group has used the UAW patch and liked it, but I did have a question.  Whenever we apply one of the shield mods, it seems to permanently erase the visible shields from the game.  So if you try no shields and then want to go back to shields, the shields come back but you cannot see them in the game, they remain invisible.  Are we doing something wrong or is this a bug that will be addressed?

Thanks,
Scott

Chris thanks for the email help 6 months ago getting UAW running
