My time in the tutu
« on: December 17, 2005, 12:19:43 am »
I know you guys will get a kick out of this.  You all thought this sort of thing was just a joke.  But tomorrow <looks at clock...>  um... later today, for the very first time, I actually star in a ballet.  That's right, ballet.  Tutus.  Dancing girls.  Men in tights.  The whole thing.

My daughters have been starring in the Nutcracker all week, and today -- for the final performance -- their Drosselmyer is unavailable.  My wife learned this last week and mentiioned that I used to do a lot of college and local theater, and suddenly I found myself drafted.    :o

What's worse is that this ballet company has been very unorganized this week and even decided they had to close on Thursday because we'd have a couple inches of snow.  So I'm going onstage with no rehearsal except for watching a DVD of last year's performance, which had different blocking and cues.

OK, I'll give it a shot.  But I'm sticking to my period costume.  Anyone tries to put me in a Kroma-sized tutu and this lizard is walking!

Congrats on the getting (being pushed) the gig.  Always remember, if you don't know what to do, fake it.  If it helps, think your the president.

I don't believe any of this. Surely S'Cippy is making up this story, and I don't think anyone here is even going to be slightly convinced without seeing pics.

Hopefully S'Cippy will be down this way sometimne over the holidays so I'll have to ask Dr, Nyet for the pics..... ;)

Then again perhaps there will be a video made this year as well..........

<Sounds of cogs fitting into place......then....CHA-CHING!!!!!!>

And I'm sure $39.95 per copy would be the steal of the century, just send checks to your friends at SNICKERS INC. and remember the first 20 copies will include tickets to Scippy's appearance next year in Swan Lake, just don't mention this to Scippy as he doesn't know about Dr. Nyet signing him up for that one yet (let it be a surprise  ;))

By the way Scippy, will Kroma be apearing as the Sugar Plum Fairy in the same production

What the hell does "blocking and cues" mean when you're wearing a tutu?  And shame on you for even knowing what it means.

If Kroma's his "co-star", he'll be doing a lot of blocking.
