Topic: Yamato kitbash upgrade from tmp to TNG/Voy

thanks to antyvirus's awesome yamato i was able to whip this up, im still messing around with it im trying to update the design from tmp to TNG, so far i like what ive done im wondering tho if i remove the courageous and just kitbash it or leave it as is

any suggestions are appreciated

IMHO if you kept just the Galaxy nacelles it would a lot better, a lot less cluttered.

How about placing the top pair of nacelles at the symmetrical spot of the bottom ones, and removing the courageous additions, and the she'll be actually able to warp then.

Yeah loose the side nacelles, use only the 4 Gal nacelles. Swap out the Excel sec hulls with Gal's as well. If you going to add weapon rollbars use Akira roll bars. And finally use the saucer with mega phaser from the Gal X.(BoBW). I'm working on a TNG Mars Class BB upgrade............

yeah .. I agree 6 nacelles are over the top  ..  especially by TNG standards. (Although I would like to have a copy of that particular style for another project I'm working on ...   seriously  .. i can use them)

I would also look at a modified tng 2ndary hull

AS for the roll bar ..  its looks ok as far as I can tell ..   I would still like to review 3-d before pronouncing final judgement though.

well ive removed the nacelles part from the courageous going to to mess with the textures to make it look like weapons, im going to tweak and mess with it

that would be unique.  Please keep in mind that more nacelles (especially by late TNG) does not equate additional power.


I like that concept ..  it is very interesting.

(BTW...  any chance I can snitch those side nacelles off of ya ?)

perhaps you  can find a way to  use the courageous pylon segment as a  support strut for something,  that part looked neat,  but I think 6 is too much too, but the rest looks nice. Unless ofcourse you did mess with the textures some  how and turn them courageous nacelles into something else.That side phaser and the extra mass there from  side view  looks interesting...

well here are the updates removed the couragous nacelles and messed with textures, also ive named her the Dominion Class, a ship made for war and with the dominion being the last war they had was there name i thought it fitting

Very nice, I would still replace the dual excel secondary hulls with those of the sovie, or if you don't want it "THAT" advanced , perhaps Ambassador sec hulls, or Gal sec hulls. Just food for thought   .

You could also turn the blue manifolds on he courageous nacelles into hull, and a phaser strip,  and turn the bussard  (or   cut out the "glass" ) and add  3  torpedo tubes and make them torpedo pods. add 1 rear if possible and texture ona couple  of resupply hatches if u really want to get detailed.

im thinking of addiing a Nebula class pod but dont know which one to choose along with a Phaser lance like the one used on the AGT Enterprise.

  I didn't mention torp tubes, I said swap out the Excelsior secondary hull to that of the Amb, Gal or Sovie.

The Vampire isn't a fanboy design

Fanboy designs are rediculusly overpowered ships made to kick ass slapped togeather without any engeering logic.

Probably the best example of it is the Galaxy-X

ah but the galaxy x is a canon ship from the finale ep of tng, meh either way the nacelles im keeping in the same formation as its the same formation as the yamato, all tho my design is fan boyish at best it is reasonable as it can be destroyed, in other words my ship does have an achilles heel lol

also forgot to mention the dominion class is the federation equivalent of the Negh Var, all tho highly strong it does have weaknesses
